Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Senior .NET Developer to join our team in support of the CDC ISS DME - Public Health Surveillance Systems. We have a team working together to build and enhance a JAVA web application with strong backend data verification capabilities running on SQL server, Postgres SQL, and other newer technologies. In this role, you will work with other team members to design and develop various software components. You will work to perform complex analysis, design, development, testing and debugging of software applications.

Position is for full time employment with GDIT and will be based at our Atlanta, GA office .


The Senior .NET Developer will conduct full lifecycle activities to include requirements analysis, design, development and testing.

  • Analyzes and implements functional requirements and designs, implements and test software

  • Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality

  • Designs and develops complex applications by setting expectations and feature priorities

  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure design principles are followed by peer developers

  • Take responsibility of comprehensive unit testing to ensure code quality prior to releases


Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years' experience. (Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related area is preferred)

  • 7+ years of solid experience with full life-cycle software development

  • 7+ years of extensive experience with the Microsoft Technology Stack (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core)

  • 3 or more years of experience implementing .NET REST APIs using .NET Core

  • Front end web experience with React, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS

  • Strong knowledge of developing applications in a Microservice architecture

  • Demonstrated experience with relational databases and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB

  • Experience developing in Microsoft Azure cloud environments

  • Exposure to DevOps tools, Automation & Containerization

Desired skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of Docker containers

  • Experience working in an Agile development team is preferred

  • Superior technical documentation skills

  • CI/CD best practices

Skills and Attributes:

This person will work with a team (of approximately 3-8 people) of experienced project managers, user experience consultants, visual designers, analysts, developers, and business resources to build enterprise systems that improve business productivity and support operations. It is important that candidates have a strong background in building beautiful, maintainable, high-quality, and high-performing web applications. Responsibilities * Contribute to requirements gathering and analysis activities such as storyboarding, developing use cases, and creating functional requirements specifications. * Contribute to creating feature specifications and technical design blueprints. * Develop custom features in Visual Studio based on specifications and technical designs. * Operate within the dynamics of a team; exercise proper etiquette and citizenship during "team development" sprints. * Create rich web user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. * Providing direction on the best web development, application, and testing frameworks to leverage for implementing the required design such as Bootstrap, Skeleton, jQuery, REST API, AngularJS, TypeScript, Node.js, Knockout, Grunt, and Gulp. * Create server-side functionality using object oriented design principles. * Take responsibility for feature-focused unit and system testing (built both by you and others). * Contribute to user acceptance testing procedures and monitoring results. * Contribute to performance and load testing procedures and issue remediation.
