As a Senior Naval Architect you will:
Work in the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide naval architectural support.

Provide HM&E engineering support services

Provide technical support in vessel Hull Form and stability, Weights, Structures, Powering and Resistance, and Propulsion.
A week in the life of a Senior Naval Architect:
Provide technical assessments of shipbuilder design deliverables, support development of HM&E systems specifications, Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) and Data Item Description (DID) documents.
Develop Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) & Engineering Changes (EC), draft Statements of Work and cost estimates of post-delivery activities
Provide expertise in Icebreaker Design and Construction Standards and Icebreaking aspects of vessel Hull Form, Structures, Powering and Resistance, and Propulsion.
Support technical responses to contractor's questions.
Support the technical development of HM&E and Auxiliary System Specification.
Author trade studies for the Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC) indicative design.
Draft HM&E system specifications for WCC RFP Release.
Maintain master equipment list
Review OPC construction CDRLs.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture or related field
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
At least 10+ years of experience in:
Ship feasibility, concept, preliminary and contract design, design integration, stability analysis, structural analysis, hydrodynamic and sea keeping analysis and vessel arrangements.
Government vessel design, construction, and repair
Design and analysis to evaluate engineering changes in support of shipbuilding acquisition and repair projects.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
