Leads a radar modeling and simulation development from concept through complex engineering challenges and solutions. Works closely with a highly technical team of multi-disciplined engineers to provide accurate and timely analysis of radar performance and capabilities. Assists in the evaluation of system designs, and use all-source information to verify/validate system models. Translates systems and capabilities into models allowing evaluation of those capabilities.

Utilizes commercial and customer tools to reduce data, fuse data, and assist in supporting various performance assessments. Initiates, works, and coordinates multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision. Employs strong verbal and written communication and applies exceptional attention to detail in performing a variety of tasks, including: radar analysis, modeling, software development, and simulation verification and validation activities.

Required

  • ABET-accredited BS in an Engineering discipline, or BS in a related technical field such as Computer Science, Physics, etc

  • Minimum 9 years related Modeling & Simulation experience

  • Experience in computer programming (Python, C++, MATLAB)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications

  • Some travel

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance

Desired

  • MS degree in a technical or scientific field

  • Fundamental understanding of clutter models, target models, DART data, common backend radar component models

  • Broad range of computer skills/experience including LINUX development

  • Expertise in antennas, signal data processing, firmware development, and/or algorithm development

  • Experience with Integrated Sensor Simulations, 6-DOF simulations, and System of Systems simulations

  • Experience in MATLAB and/or Simulink development, modeling, and analysis

Job Description and Key Tasks: * The Senior Systems Engineer II will work across multiple disciplines (e.g. Guidance, Navigation, and Control, signal processing, mechanical design) to design and develop multiple fidelities of simulation models which represent the components of a system. This includes showcasing the ability to read, debug, edit and create computer programming code to enhance simulation models, creating and executing unit tests on the models to verify functionality, documenting the design and test results, and integrating with other component models in a complex system simulation environment. This may also include development of interfaces to support Computer and Hardware-in-the-Loop capabilities within the simulation framework. * The Senior Systems Engineer II will execute simulations in a high-performance computing environment, which can include the use of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), to support missile system design/trade studies, performance assessment, and system test. The Senior/Principal Simulation Engineer will develop analysis of the data for the specific task as well as provide detailed insight and understanding of the system performance, recognizing and troubleshooting any anomalies observed in the simulation results. * The Senior Systems Engineer II will assist in the preparation of detailed simulation plans, which may include developing task objectives, determining expected output, budget requirements and developing the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
