TrinityRail is hiring a Senior Mobile Repair Technician in Shell Rock, Iowa.

The Senior Mobile Repair Technician - DOT position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who doesn't stray away from a challenge.
What you'll do:
Conduct railcar inspections to ensure cars are in compliance.
Perform repairs as necessary while always using current repair procedures.
Operate and maintain a TrinityRail Mobile Repair Truck, with some trucks requiring a DOT regulated driver
Meets the expectations and requirements of all customers to ensure we deliver an exceptional customer experience
Ensures all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information is accurate and complete
Pass any required NDT disciplines and function specific certifications, which may include tank car welding, and demonstrates strong familiarity with AAR rules and regulations
May be required to mentor/train lower-level technicians
Participate in safety assessments and equipment inspections.
Work within confined spaces and from elevated heights as required to perform work
Perform confined space monitoring and create hot work permits
Follow all safety rules and practices
May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
Understand and complete all basic required on-board training in regard to safety and quality
Performs other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
3 years of experience in railcar maintenance or manufacturing or proficient in two or more of the following disciplines: Air Brake Testing, Welding, Gasket Valves and Fasteners, BLTII, PTII, VTII, Qualified Coating Applicator, Qualified Coating Inspector, Qualified Abrasive Blaster or other qualifications as applicable
A current valid driver's license and good driving record
Any type of welding/Valve/mechanical experience or railcar knowledge is preferred
Ability to learn all major railcar components and basic functions
Must be able to perform work outlined without direct supervision
Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, torches, wrenches, hydraulic jacks, pneumatic tools, and others as required
Advanced skills in reading engineered drawings
Experience/Knowledgeable with the Field Manual of the AAR Interchange rules.
Ability to learn how to create and complete BRC
Ability to learn how to perform general inspections on railcars
Ability to learn how to perform a final inspection of completed work
Must meet DOT requirements to operate CMVs less than 26k GVWR
