GEICO's DevOps division has an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Middleware Engineer to join our Middleware Team. You will be collaborating with a team of highly specialized middleware engineers as well as other operations teams and application owners to keep our mission critical business applications and systems secure and highly available. You will have excellent opportunity to utilize a variety of technologies, innovate and implement new ideas to improve efficiency of our systems and processes. You will Install and configure middleware technologies on Linux/Windows. You will Support tuning J2EE Application servers to optimize performance. You will Support the application through its entire development life cycle. You will be involved in system design, deploying code, resolving any infrastructure problems, production implementation and post production support. You will Support production implementations and be able to troubleshoot and resolve production issues minimizing the customer impact. You will monitor production on a 24/7 environment and participate in production problem calls and resolve any problems related to Middleware.

Bachelor's Degree in information systems, Computer Science (or similar) or currently pursing
Minimum of 5 years of experience in working with middleware technologies including WebSphere MQ
Administration: Installation, Configuration, Troubleshooting, Deployment and upgrading middleware technologies
Experience with Application Servers: Red Hat JBoss, Tomcat, IBM WebSphere
Experience with Web Servers: Apache, JBoss, HIS
WebSphere MQ on both distributed and Mainframe
Experience with Operating Systems such as Linux (SUSE, Redhat), Windows (2008, 2012)
Scripting skills with one or more of: Shell, Perl, Python, Ruby, PowerShell and strong automation background
Experience supporting large scale middleware infrastructure with a full understanding of software SDLC.
Experience working with Server and Application monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk)
Experience with Configuration Management tools (Puppet, Chef or similar) would be a plus
