The Senior Member of Technical Staff discipline is part of a technical career program designed for employees who are working on new and emerging technologies AND who have made a significant commitment to their education by earning at least a4-year degree in specified STEM areas.

Applies advanced engineering and scientific knowledge to architecture, design and development work in a Research and Development environment for high-value technology and solutions tied to the strategic direction of the company.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conducts design and development work in the areas of new products/technologies, systems/platform architecture, hardware/software development engineering, technical security and QA Design/Certification.

• Conducts quantitative, algorithmic and theory based analysis for addressing business issues in information extraction and synthesis, data mining, data visualization, network design and optimization, market & financial analysis, operations research, and decision support systems.

• Work must primarily involve new and emerging technologies and technical architectures on projects with a status between inception and implementation/software maturity.

• May be responsible for architecture, architecture design or assessment, standards, systems design, technical assessment or requirements, system development, analysis and testing of infrastructure and services that use network and systems technologies, applications development, software design and development, and/or systems integration testing.

• May serve as subject matter expert during the continuous integration/continuous deployment cycle in a production environment focused on complex design, engineering and development.

Qualifications:

• Refer to Technical Career Pathway (TCP) website https://workspace.web.att.com/sites/IT_TCP under TCP Disciplines Guide/Inventive Science for approved universities and degree disciplines. Exceptions require Board Review.

• PhD in an approved field from an approved university with no experience, or a Masters in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, or a Bachelors in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

• Experience with Palantir platform required.

• Software/Data engineering and data science using cloud technologies such as Databricks, Azure, Snowflake.

• Experience with AI/ML uses cases in communications networks.

• Familiarity with Gen AI technologies desired.

• Passion for using data to solve business problems.

• Commitment to keeping up with evolving technologies.

• Requires on-site presence (3-5) days a week at one of the listed locations (Middletown, NJ, Alpharetta, Georgia or Plano, Texas.

Our Senior Member of Technical Staff earns between $148,200.00-$222,400.00. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
