Summary:

Community Health Systems, CHSPSC, LLC is seeking a Senior, Medication Management Applications Specialist for its Franklin, TN headquarters' Clinical Informatics team. This senior-level position with the Clinical Informatics team is responsible for strategy and execution of clinical decision support tools, integrated workflow assessments, and medication utilization optimization support, primarily focused on the Oracle/Cerner clinical applications platform.

The Senior Medication Management Applications Specialist is a subject matter expert of the Oracle/Cerner Clinical Applications who assists with planning, design, development, testing, end user training, implementation support, and adoption of Electronic Health Record to achieve clinical transformation that results in improved patient care outcomes and end user efficiency.

You will consult on comprehensive physician workflows and medication processes, including current state, and future state, and work with business partners to map out stop-start-continue processes to determine how the medication management system will be designed, implemented, managed, and measured while adhering to the CHS standard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor use of specific CPOE applications and medication management system functions that impact the organization's medication use processes and ensure that existing systems are processing effectively and accurately according to project objectives.

  • Lead/facilitate work-groups charged with defining design options and making design recommendations as it relates to CPOE and E-Prescribe Clinical

  • Decision Support tools and other Clinical system enhancements

  • Effectively communicate with multidisciplinary teams and manage and execute change in a complex multi facility environment

  • Support the facility clinical informaticists, pharmacy informaticist, and service line directors with both clinical and technical details required to troubleshoot issues.

  • Assist the Sr. Director of Pharmacy Informatics and Chief Medical Information Officer in translating the optimization initiatives into specific changes in the EHR that are executable.

  • Develop training materials for end users to assist with deployment of changes

  • Ability to query the Cerner Database via Cerner Command Language (CCL)

  • Provide reporting assistance and serves as a subject matter expert to the Clinical Informatics team on Physician/Pharmacy applications to facilitate data driven changes to achieve meaningful outcomes

  • Interact and communicate with physicians, other clinicians and health care executives

Qualifications:

Required Education: 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree or 4 years or more direct application experience, formal education in any clinical care discipline

Required Experience: 3-5 years direct application experience,

Preferred Experience: 6-10 years or more direct application experience, 2 years clinical informatics experience

Preferred License/Registration/Certification: Clinical certification in any clinical care discipline is a plus

Computer Skills Required: Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Windows

Computer Skills Preferred: Understanding of spreadsheets and databases to consume/generate analytics
