Senior Mechanical Engineer-HVAC Design (REVIT)
Location
This position is based in either Houston or Austin, Texas, depending on the candidate's preference. Occasional travel to project sites and other company offices may be required.
Summary/Objective
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and executing HVAC design projects for various building types, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability. Your expertise in REVIT will be instrumental in translating concepts into detailed engineering plans, furthering our commitment to providing clients with outstanding engineering solutions.
Essential Functions
HVAC Design and Analysis: Lead the design and analysis of HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings in compliance with local and national codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
REVIT Expertise: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of REVIT software to develop and maintain accurate 3D models and technical drawings, facilitating seamless coordination with other disciplines within the firm.
Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met while adhering to budgetary constraints.
Energy Efficiency: Incorporate sustainable and energy-efficient principles into HVAC designs, aiming to minimize environmental impact and optimize building performance.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in sizing, selection, and specification of HVAC equipment and components, as well as evaluating and troubleshooting existing systems.
Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and structural engineers, to achieve integrated design solutions.
Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks and reviews of HVAC designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
Code Compliance: Stay updated with local building codes, standards, and regulations to ensure HVAC designs are in full compliance.
Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth within the organization.
Competencies
Proficiency in using REVIT for HVAC design and coordination.
Strong understanding of building systems and their integration with HVAC design.
In-depth knowledge of energy codes, ASHRAE standards, and industry best practices.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Experience with sustainable design and LEED certification is a plus.
Familiarity with other building design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Carrier HAP) is an advantage.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
At least 15 years of hands-on experience in HVAC design for commercial and institutional buildings.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
