Senior Mechanical Engineer

RMF Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Baltimore Buildings Division. Enthusiastic and energetic, the successful candidate will work with a cross-functional team on mechanical building systems and projects. The role is responsible for contributing to the oversight of up to three mechanical engineers, including training, mentorship, and quality control.  The position reports to a Project Manager and demands the ability to act as a “back-up” project manager, to communicate with all design team consultants, to resolve construction questions with contractors, and to maintain a complete understanding of the technical aspects of the mechanical design for assigned projects (drawings, specifications & construction administration).Position Description:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will perform engineering calculations, code analysis, and lead the mechanical design for all phases of a project.  Furthermore, the engineer will provide guidance, technical direction, and mentorship to support team members including other mechanical engineers/designers. The engineer should be self-driven to complete design and analysis tasks for projects as well as coordinate design and design issues with the project manager, team members and outside design consultants.  The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:

• Mechanical systems design and equipment specification.
• Code analysis.
• Site Survey and Investigation
• Energy modeling.
• Sustainability certification documentation such as LEED.
• Life cycle cost analysis.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) Degree from accredited college or university.
• Minimum of seven years of mechanical engineering and design experience.
• EIT Certification.
• Design experience using Autodesk Revit software for Building Information Modeling.
• Experience with field work and documentation of existing engineering conditions.
• Experience in one or more of the market focus areas listed below.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE).
• Strong work ethic and solid organizational skills.
