ENSCO's National Security Services (NSS) Division provides innovative customized products and services vital to national safety and security. NSS develops and implements technologies, products, and services that meet unique customer requirements and challenging operational constraints. Two of our primary focus areas are the development of multipurpose sensor systems and the development of GPS-independent position, navigation, and timing solutions. We are seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join our team of talented engineers and scientists in the design and development of specialized systems for a variety of highly valued customers.

  • Support the development of new and existing electronics packages and mechanical systems

  • Develop strategies and concepts to solve challenging problems; Implement prototypes

  • Complete structural, thermal, and additional engineering analyses

  • Create, revise, and manage 3D CAD technical data packages for full products and prototypes

  • Hands-on development, fabrication, and testing

  • Assist principal investigators with testing and review of conceptual designs and proof-of-concept models

  • Mentor and advise engineering interns and technical associates

Qualifications Required (Skills) Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Solid understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles, statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, mechanical vibrations, heat transfer, materials selection, and physics

  • Background in part and electromechanical system design, modeling, and testing in both experimental and industrial settings.

  • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems design, troubleshooting, fabrication, and assembly.

  • Proficiency in parametric solid modeling programs, e.g. SolidWorks or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated engineering design process experience

  • Experience with ANSYS simulation software or equivalent completing structural and thermal analysis of parts, systems, and circuit cards

  • Strong work ethic, independent thinker and self-starter with decision-making ability.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing, entering, and tracking information.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work well under general supervision and technical guidance.

  • Must have a current and active TS/SCI security clearance for which you must be U.S. citizen. If you do not meet this requirement you will not be considered. Qualifications Desired MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Hands-on experience with design, testing, and operation of precision sensors

  • Hands-on electrical system troubleshooting and fabrication

  • Experience with ANSYS analysis modules: Static Structural, Steady-State Thermal, Modal, and Response Spectrum

  • Experience in software development with MATLAB, C, or Labview.

  • Experience designing test fixtures for collecting sensor data.

  • Design experience with non-ferrous metals and plastics

  • Additive manufacturing and prototyping experience

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with polygraph

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for the IT operations at Conference Center facilities in support of Naval Conferences and special events. This is a full-time opportunity that is located at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. It becomes available upon contract award anticipated on or about January 2019. What you will be doing: * Function as Technical Lead (TL) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for systems engineering, information technology, and technical documentation. * Serve as an operational lead on Information Technical (IT) projects and operations; workforce management; and oversight and management of contract performance and deliverables. * Report to the PM and handle duties and tasks/productive labor that support the Program and operational tempo. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: * Advanced degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or bachelor's degree and 15+ years relevant experience.
