Primary responsibilities are for the mechanical design of components and subassemblies used in laboratory instrumentation and medical devices used for diagnosis of disease.
Responsibilities include creation of design concepts, performing feasibility evaluations, implementing designs including creating CAD models and production drawings, and design verification by analysis and test.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for electromechanical component selection, design of mechanisms, frames, enclosures, injection molded parts, and fluidic systems.
Job requires performing laboratory experiments with biological specimens and adherence to safe lab practices.
BSME 5 Years of Experience or MSME with 3 Years of Experience
Proficiency using Solidworks
Familiarity Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, and Fishbone Analysis
Good technical writing skills: plans, procedures, reports, change descriptions, impact assessments
Experience with designing plastic injection molded parts is a plus
Experience with electromechanical simulation using Labview, Matlab, or other tools is a plus
