The Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible for project execution/management and design, securing mechanical projects through proposal preparation and attending business development meetings. Mechanical projects may include the planning and design of HVAC, piping/plumbing, solar thermal, forensic mechanical engineering, mechanical energy optimization, microturbine and other forms of alternative energy. The position could be an Associate Principal or Principal level, responsible for managing multiple persons and projects simultaneously. In the field Project/Construction Management.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Qualified candidates should have a Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a similar field from an accredited university and a California Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) License. Qualified candidates should have approximately 10 years of technical experience managing complex mechanical projects with an emphasis on mechanical optimization/retrofits, energy savings and energy efficiency; forensic mechanical engineering experience is also preferred. Candidates should have an understanding of electrical engineering as it relates to mechanical and solar systems. Experience and an interest in business development is highly preferred.

• 1) Be licensed in California
• 2) Licensed in Hawaii and Nevada (nice to have)
• 3) Have the ability to manage budgets, project manage, and perform high level design and oversight.
• 4) Ability to mentor future junior engineers
• 5) Solar and other energy efficient design and analysis experience ( a plus)
• 6) Ability to assist with the development of proposals, as well as, ability to properly price our consulting services
• 7) Experience level: 10 years plus
• 8) Due diligence experience - ability to assist existing systems and recommend repairs
• 9) Good handle of current construction and repair costs associated with mechanical work
• 10) Experience with working with both Private section and Public Sector Clients
• 11) DSA experience (a plus)
• 12) Litigation and forensic experience - experience studying failures and recommending solutions (a plus)

13) Hands on experience replacing boilers, chillers, building components, creating energy efficiency.

VIEW JOBS 11/8/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-06T00:00 SUMMARY The Senior Consulting Engineer is responsible for leveraging expert-level engineering knowledge and relationships to deliver consulting services with significant impact on software revenue, as well as for helping customers to solve complex engineering problems using ANSYS software products. RESPONSIBILITIES * Credibly and professionally execute consulting projects that are sold, as defined in Statement of Work, resulting in high customer satisfaction and delivering value to our customers * Actively engage with the sales teams and customers to identify opportunities to provide consulting services to enhance the utilization of simulation in product development * Work as an integral member of the Sales and ACE teams to progress and secure the consulting business; this will involve working with Sales to develop sales strategies, engaging with customers to understand their existing product development process, developing a vision for enhancing their existing process with ANSYS products and services, articulating that vision to the customer, and working with the ACE team to develop a plan for execution of that vision * Work closely with the ACE team to ensure timely development of effective Statements of Work and Services Proposals; monitor the execution and delivery of consulting projects to ensure customer satisfaction and develop opportunities for follow-up projects that advance the vision for improving the customer product development process * Look for opportunities to generate marketing collateral from projects such as success stories, testimonials and presentation material * Collaborate with Product Development to improve ANSYS software products and the customers' experience using these products MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in [engineering] or other technical discipline * A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a role as a Technical Support Engineer at ANSYS or in a similar organization's customer support, consulting services or related customer-facing activities * A minimum of 4 years of experience in use of relevant ANSYS software or other commercial software * Demonstrated problem solving skills * Ability to work independently, as well as with others in a diverse team environment * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and to communicate effectively with customers * Experience in ANSYS Mechanical and/or ANSYS LSDyna * Industry knowledge in simulations in areas such as strength analysis, durability, impact, vibrations, thermal composites, rigid body dynamics * Competent working knowledge of Swedish and English languages PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience in the use of CAD software is a plus * Must have passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance * Must have customer service aptitude and maintain customer focus * Available for travel (up to 50%) CULTURE AND VALUES Culture and values are incredibly important to ANSYS.
