Prepares designs to assist in developing ideas generated by engineers, designs products and equipment, responsible for producing safe, technically accurate and cost effective equipment designs.
Assist Project Leader or Design Engineer in selection of the simpler components and the design details for inclusion in the project/product design.
Layout and Design specific areas as assigned per the Company procedure and standards.
Design general arrangements or base systems based on customer needs and requirements.
Analyze data to determine feasibility or product proposal.
Prepare or direct preparation of product or system layout with detailed drawings and schematics.
Review work order and procedural manuals to determine critical content.
Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production processes.
Assist in systems development as required, such as drafting standards, parts list systems, computer programming.
Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Project Leaders in assigned complex design tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
Works in a project capacity under the Engineering Manager and Design Engineers.
Layout and design assigned tasks within a major project/facility.
Provides all necessary calculations and documentation for any specific design released.
Prepares technical data for estimates.
Delegates work and provides direction to designers and draftspersons.
Provides technical liaison with other departments.
Resolves problems in design and production released through consultation with experienced people in the company, available computer programs, and company standards and procedures
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2 year vocational school in Drafting and Design
Preferred AAS in Drafting and Design
Minimum of 10 years as a designer in the Exploration and Production section of O&G
Minimum 10 years working experience with AutoCAD
Preferred experience with both AutoCAD and Inventor
Create 3D CAD models
Create fabrication, layout, and general assembly drawings
AutoCAD 2D and 3D
Teamcenter PLM system
Experience designing large assemblies (100 parts)
Develop and interpret P&IDs
Piping system design experience (desired)
Structural design experience (desired)
CAD system management experience a plus

Knowledge of separation and solids handling equipment
Experience using BIM design software
Experience with pipe routing software
Experience with Pipe routing software management and BIM creation
Experience with ECRs, ENs, and BOM in PLM systems

Ability to learn technical repair and assembly guidelines and procedures
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
