Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description Job Description Overview : Specialize in the development of complex mechanical machines and assemblies for new and existing customers. Contribute by meeting or exceeding customer expectations, improving organizational efficiencies and employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities: Manage specific designs to deliver commitments with a focus on customer specifications and requirements and 100% on-time delivery. Perform high level engineering calculations for product design analysis, servo motor sizing, and production/process analysis. Participate, refine and complete designs after engineering and general design review meetings.

Ensure that customer approval drawings are complete, checked, and submitted to meet the required schedule. Release drawings, BOMs (Bills of Material) and required documents to processing to meet schedule requirements. Interact with purchasing and vendors concerning parts.

Perform liaison function between Engineering and all Manufacturing / Service for any design related issues, problems, or improvements. Conducts root cause investigation, solves manufacturing / design issues, and implements cost reduction ideas Integrate with NPD (New Product Development) to introduce superior technology coordinating with the mechanical requirements of the design Prepare with sales preliminary and proposal designs, calculations, and documents Mentor, train and teach junior Engineers Must champion continuous improvement Required Skills: Experience with machine design (large capital equipment or automation) Experience designing with Solidworks and AutoCAD Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong understanding of servo motor sizing Strong knowledge of mechanics of materials, stress analysis Knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic controls and mechanical systems Ability to work well in a team setting Time Management Education and Work Experience : Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience; MSME helpful 10 years of Mechanical Engineering experience concentrated in machine design Salary: $95,000 to $110,000 (dependent on experience) Benefits: Full benefits package including: medical/dental/life/401k/paid time off
