Brand marketing is a strategic growth priority for Backcountry and we are expanding our brand marketing team as well as our MDF (Market Development Funding) program as it relates to vendor contributions. In order to grow our MDF program and become more sophisticated in our approach to driving these initiatives, we are looking for a Senior Manager MDF to help support and shape the future of this program. The MDF program is critical to the growth of the company and a lynchpin of our 3 year plan.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of Backcountry's brand efforts. This role will support the execution of our brand strategy, ensuring all touch-points across the brand and business are aligned. The Senior Manager MDF will help plan and execute a go-to-market plan to extend the reach of our brand through the MDF lens and deliver on our commitments to vendor partners.

This is a cross-functional position that will need to partner closely with a number of internal and external teams, including merchandising, creative, user experience, analytics and our Gearhead program. This position will also be external-facing, and be the primary stakeholder in MDF vendor relationships.

About the Job:

  • Manage all of Backcountry's current brand activities related to our Marketing Development Fund and vendor relationships program

  • Strategically evolve the program to deliver more value to our vendors and Backcountry

  • Support the implementation of Backcountry's strategic brand positioning

  • A passion for brand development and an ambition to build a unique and differentiated leading brand in the outdoor space

  • Incredible relationship management skills as this role will interface with dozens of great brands in the outdoor industry

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years experience in a brand marketing or equivalent / relevant role

  • A collaborator at heart - this is a cross-functional role that requires partnership with multiple teams across the business

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with ease and perform under pressure with a strong attention to detail

  • A hands on approach that is happy to execute autonomously as well as manage external parties

  • Strong leadership skills, project management and people management skills

A unique blend of a customer-centric philosophy, structured and analytical problem solving with creative flair and imagination

  • Experience in an online environment

  • Experience managing a budget

About You:

  • A strong grasp of marketing strategy across digital channels

  • Experience with paid social channels and strategies a plus, understanding of paid social strategy at a minimum

  • A solid creative foundation and understanding of leisure and modern outdoor visual aesthetics

  • A "can-do" positive attitude

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in an ever changing, sometimes chaotic environment

  • Ability to anticipate the needs of other team members to increase efficiencies

  • Ability to organize and coordinate different aspects of multiple projects at once

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Ability to travel to tradeshows

A day in the life of a Digital Operations Senior Manager looks like; 40% Global Website Management * Responsible for maximizing Conversion from customer arriving on site through order placed. * Responsible for smooth operations across Ordering, Inventory availability, Processing of Transactions (payments, fraud, shipping, returns), Uphold processing and fulfillment SLAs. * Create processing efficiencies; partner with developers and IT integrations and customer service teams to see through implementation of process improvements. * Responsible for aggregation and analysis of global site KPIs. * Create and socialize site KPI dashboards and tracking to revenue and site benchmarks * Responsible for back-end integrations and site infrastructure, as well as site speed and up-time. * Proactively optimize ecommerce SEO in accordance with best practices. * Own website release management and quality assurance. * Own all Finance, Logistics and Supply department inputs and outputs 25% Development & Project Management * Define and acquire appropriate resource needs to meet demands of growing ecommerce at Skullcandy. * Manage developer priorities, budget, delivery and relationships. * Manage digital projects from project definition through development. * Define, design and prioritize required capabilities with internal or external development resources and ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget. 15% Strategy & Planning * Provide strategic direction for new site features/functionality and optimizations to maximize customer consideration and conversion and improve end-to-end customer ordering experience. * Create vision and roadmap for Skullcandy owned digital websites * Align with IT, Customer Service, Finance, HR, Legal on any and all cross-departmental requests/projects. 20% Team & Partner/Vendor Management * Provide leadership and vision for the entire Skullcandy.com owned ecommerce business.
