The Senior Manager Marketing will be instrumental in the strategic frame-up and flawless execution of Samsung's Marketing and in-store Merchandising and eCommerce initiatives partnering with Best Buy. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build and cultivate collaborative relationships with Best Buy to develop and execute merchandising and marketing plans that drive sales fundamentally elevate the Samsung brand at the leading electronics retailer in the US. This role is essential in our quest to drive world-class, business-moving delivery of the Samsung brand and its broad range of products.

Role and Responsibilities

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Partner with marketing, sales and store operations teams to prioritize marketing, merchandising and online activities based on broader strategic objectives and joint business planning

  • Deep integration into key product category, understand fundamental strategies, business drivers, shopper insights, business KPIs, etc.

  • Define standards, policies and procedures driving marketing and merchandising execution with retail-partner digital properties & ecosystems

  • Ensure flawless implementation of local/global initiatives with Best Buy

  • Stay plugged in to industry trends, best practices and technological innovations; refine / evolve strategies accordingly

  • Interface with US HQ to align strategies and share shining examples

  • Partners cross-functionally to find efficiencies and cross-leverage opportunities

Key Deliverables

  • Deliver best in class shopper experiences across all retailer platforms (in-store, online and marketing)

  • Conducts marketing analysis to understand market landscape and Samsung position at Best Buy

  • Develop annual marketing programs that meet and exceed sales targets.

  • Build and manage marketing and merchandising programs (road-maps, timelines, budgets, approvals)

  • Develop KPIs and reporting frameworks

  • Manage inter-org & external partner (vendor) relationships

  • Closely align project road-maps with Store Operations and Demand Generation Marketing organization

Skills and Qualifications


The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • 12+ years' experience in marketing and/or merchandising with demonstrated subject-matter expertise

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, sell-in and execute flawlessly strategic marketing and merchandising with retailer partners

  • Experience leading major cross-functional initiatives with both internal and external stakeholders to drive business results

  • Superior strategic and analytical skills; experience evaluating volumes of data and making strategic recommendations

  • Demonstrated comfort with and passion for technology

The Person

The Senior Manager Marketing must have excellent communication skills, capable of clearly articulating a strategic vision and path for getting there. Other characteristics include:

  • Enthusiasm for technology & Samsung products, with strong understanding of trends in consumer electronics & mobile industries

  • Ability to work within a deadline-oriented, delivery-centered, fast-paced, matrixed team environment

Undergraduate university degree; a relevant (MBA) post-graduate degree is desired.

In this role, you'll be responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to develop, plan and execute thought leadership events for our current and prospective clients. Key responsibilities: * Meet with sales leaders to understand current priorities and develop an events strategy to support goals and objectives on a regional and national level. * Manage overall event calendar to ensure timelines stay on track and deadlines are met for key milestones, including content development, speaker selection, venue procurement, invitation/registration process, travel arrangements and on-site execution. * Keep shifting details organized and up to date so status updates can be easily and quickly reported to leadership. * Monitor registrations for each event and provide coaching to sales team to help drive registrations as needed. * Provide support for on-site event execution whether in person or via an event-in-a-box kit. * Collect and report client feedback using online survey tools; track long-term trends/insights to shape ongoing event strategy and approach. * Manage event budgets on an ongoing basis to ensure positive ROI over time. * Serve as an ambassador for the event strategy on a company-wide level. Be an advocate for the value of marketing/thought leadership events. * Work as part of a cross functional team including creative designers, sales, internal SMEs, executive leadership and fellow event planners to evolve the event strategy. * Support additional marketing initiatives including customer portfolios, sales support materials and tradeshows.
