Summary of Duties:

The Senior Marketing Communications Coordinator is responsible for leading, developing, implementing, and supervising others in the creation of marketing plans and strategies, developing and coordinating marketing tools and research, and promoting the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine through earned, owned and paid media strategies.

This role leads and manages strategic marketing and campaigns for units and departments across the college, leads development and editing of marketing and PR materials, and supervises college-driven messaging and content; leads social media strategy, planning and development across social media channels; creates and leads website development and content; manages internal communications strategy and channels; and strategizes and develops presentations and other promotional materials. Manages public relations support including development of editorial calendars, media contact lists, pitch story ideas, press release development, and media tracking; coordinates market research efforts and analytics; manages outbound communications and analytics using divisional customer relationship management (CRM) tools.

Essential Job Functions:

Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field AND three (3) years of professional level experience in marketing, promotional or related work. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc).

  • Experience with web/HTML, e-mail marketing tools, presentation software, social media channels, and Google Analytics.

  • Strong proofreading skills and attention to details.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing marketing and communications plans, assessing and analyzing outcomes, and researching new market strategies and solutions or related work.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and some weekends.

  • Valid drivers license and ability to drive for work purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.

  • Experience working in a higher education or similar institutional setting.

  • Advanced degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or other related field.

  • Demonstrated successful marketing and promotion experience in healthcare, education, or other related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects independently and with specific deadlines.

Monthly Salary: Minimum: $4,508.70, Midpoint: $5,635.88 , Maximum: $6,763.06; commensurate with qualifications and experience.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
