MathWorks is seeking a data driven marketing analyst to join our growing organization. Candidate must have experience conducting effective analysis, create compelling data visualization and charts and train others to increase access of our data. Should be confident making critical decisions independently and eager to play a key role in the organization.


  • Build solid and strategic relationships with business leaders and clients

  • Analyze data to draw both Qualitative and Quantitative conclusions

  • Convert findings into written reports, develop questionnaires and discussion guidelines

  • Prepare and present results to management and clients

  • Manage multiple projects with quick turnaround

  • Sound understanding of statistical concepts and research methods

  • Conduct training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed

  • Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts

  • Identify opportunities to improve usability of reporting and analytics reports and dashboards.

  • Collaborate with operational areas and analytics team members to implement related enhancements

  • Coordinate collection of inputs as needed from stakeholders to document and publish applicable reports

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience) is required.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit

  • 5+ years experience in business / customer intelligence, business analysis, or database marketing

  • Ability to provide total analytic support which includes data extraction, developing reports and synthesizing data

  • Ability to clearly explain technical and analytical information (verbally, written & in presentation format)

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Experience with SQL and BusinessObjects or related application (e.g. Hyperion Essbase, Cognos, SAS, Microsoft Analytical Services, etc.)

The Role: Cognex is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the growing FP&A team to support the Logistics business. A key function of this role is performing financial analysis, planning and reporting of the Logistics business. Essential Functions: * Partner with the Logistics business unit leaders to prepare the annual expense budget and quarterly expense forecasts. * Analyze month end department expense results and prepare appropriate accruals. * Provide mid-month analysis of actuals vs. forecast to flag any potential variances. * Provide objective analytical support to influence and reinforce expense decisions. * Prepare month end variance explanations for the Management Financial Package. * Prepare and analyze monthly expenses in the Logistics Financial Package. * Continuously look for opportunities to improve existing processes and procedures to support the team. * Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Strong qualitative and quantitative skills, with a demonstrated passion for using data to drive decision making. * Prior experience working with tight deadlines and demonstrated responsibility for accuracy and timeliness for work performed. * A team player with the ability to work independently as well as cross-functionally. * Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to convey information to all levels of the organization in a clear, focused, and concise manner. * Excellent Microsoft Excel experience required; TM1 experience is a plus * Process improvement focus.
