We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician to aid in the production of high-power fiber lasers in our Bloomfield, CT facility. This position requires individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, technically demanding and constantly evolving product landscape. Standard schedule is Monday
Friday, 6:00 am
2:30 pm.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Work with and test high power (>1 kW) fiber lasers
Execute all optical, mechanical, and electrical assembly stations
Assist with daily 3S/7S activities (5S plus safety & security)
Handle, splice, and cleave small and large diameter fiber
Work with fiber optical components
Operate fiber fusion splicers, fiber re-coaters, fiber cleavers, optical spectrum analyzers, optical power meters, power supplies, photo detectors, and oscilloscopes
Education & Experience
Associate degree in Electro-Optic Technology or equivalent preferred but not required
Three years of fiber laser build and test experience desired
Ability to work with fiber optic and optical components
Operational familiarity with fiber fusion splicers, fiber re-coaters, fiber cleavers, optical spectrum analyzers, laser beam analyzers, optical power meters, power supplies, photodetectors, and oscilloscopes
Must be a U.S. citizen

Understanding of Lean manufacturing
Self-motivated individual who utilizes downtime efficiently through cross-training, assisting other areas.
