We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician to aid in the production of high-power fiber lasers in our Bloomfield, CT facility. This position requires individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, technically demanding and constantly evolving product landscape. Standard schedule is Monday

  • Friday, 6:00 am

  • 2:30 pm.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with and test high power (>1 kW) fiber lasers

  • Execute all optical, mechanical, and electrical assembly stations

  • Assist with daily 3S/7S activities (5S plus safety & security)

  • Handle, splice, and cleave small and large diameter fiber

  • Work with fiber optical components

  • Operate fiber fusion splicers, fiber re-coaters, fiber cleavers, optical spectrum analyzers, optical power meters, power supplies, photo detectors, and oscilloscopes

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree in Electro-Optic Technology or equivalent preferred but not required

  • Three years of fiber laser build and test experience desired

  • Ability to work with fiber optic and optical components

  • Operational familiarity with fiber fusion splicers, fiber re-coaters, fiber cleavers, optical spectrum analyzers, laser beam analyzers, optical power meters, power supplies, photodetectors, and oscilloscopes

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing

  • Self-motivated individual who utilizes downtime efficiently through cross-training, assisting other areas.

  • Adept at identifying and implementing effective solutions.

  • Collaborative team player, excelling in group settings and contributing effectively to collective goals.

Safety Requirements
