The Senior Manufacturing Improvement Manager is a skilled problem solver who will implement and support a Six Sigma culture as part of the Proactive Quality Framework. This role will work with leadership to surface opportunities to improve yield/reduce losses and work directly with teams to resolve issues using Six Sigma processes and tools.
This includes training employees in Six Sigma methods, processes, and tools, as well as mentoring and supporting them to execute sustained shop projects and continual improvements. It is expected that the person in this role will complete their own Master Black Belt certification if they have not already done so.
Working closely with key stakeholders, provide strategic leadership and technical direction for Six Sigma within Supply Chain and partner with Engineering on key initiatives as appropriate
Become a recognized Six Sigma technical expert.
Guide functional teams in developing and executing Six Sigma plans to improve process quality and create capacity
Serve as a focal point for Six Sigma initiatives
Drive measurable improvements
Assist managers/leaders in establishing Six Sigma processes and projects
Support Tiger Teams in Execution of their projects
Assist with implementation of other pillars in the Proactive Quality Framework (e.g. PQA, PFMEA)
Ensure Six Sigma activities are tied to measurable business outcomes
Mentor Black Belts and Green Belts
Remain current on Six Sigma methodologies and analytics/digital technologies
Assist sites with Six Sigma education (White Belt, Yellow Belt, Green Belt)
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university
Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, or Process Improvement
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an outstanding ability to interact and engage at all levels of the organization- from the shop floor to senior leadership
Black Belt certified
Program and project management skills
Proven track record of successfully implementing projects from concept to long term support
Graduate Degree in Engineering, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university
Experience leading teams in a complex supply chain / manufacturing environment
