Purpose:

The purpose of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer role is to provide engineering solutions to aid our plant's efforts in improving Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and Morale.. This role will manage significant engineering projects that support our plant's manufacturing operations and business planning goals.

Job Description:

  • Leads problems solving efforts through effective actions that negotiate, influence, develop, motivate, or change the behavior of associates impacted by those problem-solving efforts.

  • Leads engineering improvement projects focused on improving Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and Morale.

  • Manage projects with some degree of autonomy with guidance provided by Plant Engineering Manager.

  • Manage significant projects concurrently including those involving cross-functional exposure.

  • Provide technical leadership to teams, supervisors and manufacturing department technical resources.

  • Contact external customers.

  • Support company relationships and pursue company objectives with external customers.

  • Represent the company in technical presentations and other customer relation's activities.

  • Reviews and improves manufacturing processes, as well as identifies best practices through bench marking other facilities (internal Timken facilities and industrial peer facilities).

  • Active participant in industry organizations (i.e. Society of Manufacturing Engineers, South Carolina OpExChange).

  • Supports manufacturing as well as functional support groups to achieve their goals.

Education Requirement:

  • Minimum
  • Bachelor's

  • Engineering (Controls/Electrical)

  • Preferred
  • Master's

  • Engineering (Controls/Electrical)    

Experience Requirement:

  • 5 to 9 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
