As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you plan and designs various manufacturing processes in a Lean Manufacturing environment. The Engineer maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to the product specification. Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. This position takes an active role in cost reducing the manufacturing process a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for supporting all production lines while developing and maintaining computer based manufacturing instructions for assembly processes and train production personnel to use them effectively.

  • Design efficient production layouts for new and existing production lines and departments.

  • Develop and maintain monthly cost analyses on new and existing products in an effort to reduce overall product cost.

  • Manufacturing reviews on new power supply designs for manufacturability, including time studies and fixture designs and automation where applicable.

  • Work closely with the Design Engineering in an effort to facilitate a smooth transition of new power supply designs to a production environment while at the same time reducing cost and improving quality.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD or similar computer drawing software.

  • Familiar with working in an ERP computer system and responsible for routing all new manufacturing parts to their proper departments as well as establishing time standards for these parts.

  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skill in handling various projects.

  • Understands and commits to the principles of the companies Quality and Environmental Management Systems.

  • Supply various daily reports to Management on shipment tracking, sales and bookings.

  • Assist in packaging designs for new and existing products.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively express and present ideas and information in a clear manner, both oral and written, in all dealings with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and vendors.

  • Participate weekly in various product quality meetings.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot production problems and facilitate quick solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SENIOR MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university/advanced degree or certificate

  • More than ten years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

  • Ability to use internet/intranet, cross functional Enterprise Resource Planning software, the MS Office package, and other software programs and packages to their potential to provide a work product fitting to the level of the position. Must also be able to perform troubleshooting

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
