Position Summary and Responsibilities

Teledyne Controls is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical support for all areas of the business unit by specifying equipment and methods to ensure repaired products comply with all repair process requirements and Quality Assurance standards.

Key Functions:

  • Coordinate with Test Engineering Team on test and document issue

  • Coordinate with Support Engineering Team to resolve the issue on Service Bulletin

  • Create Rework Travelers as needed

  • Document process flow for repairs and upgrade per product line

  • Evaluates equipment and tools for improvement/replacement

  • Work with Mechanical Engineering to design fixtures, tooling aids, templates to ease the rework process

  • Be able to implement and sustain 5S projects throughout the shop

  • Coordinate and/or provide training on Teledyne Process Specification (TPS) to Repair Station's Technicians as requested by Repair Station Management

  • Analyze and plan on continuous basis the work force utilization, capacity, space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for use efficiency



  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in related engineering fields; At least a minimum of five (5) years' of related experience; and/or equivalent combination of experience or education

  • Must have knowledge of Circuit Card Assembly, Box Assembly, SMT, BGA, Harnessing & Wiring, Tooling and the establishment of Manufacturing Process Flows

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications tools: Project, Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook and PowerPoint

  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent time management skills

  • Must have ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documents and schematics


  • Experience in Aerospace and Defense industry experience

  • FAA/DOT experience

  • Experience operating an AS9100 Environment

  • Experience in electronic, electrical and mechanical assembly, including MIL-STD-130, IPC-A-610, IPC-WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001

We are seeking experienced and energetic candidates to join our world-class team in El Segundo, CA. This position supports Air Force Space and Missile Center (SMC) certification and Non-Recurring Design Validation of SpaceX's Falcon Heavy launch vehicle being used to provide launch services for National Security Space (NSS) satellite missions. General Responsibilities: Interface with a multi-disciplined team consisting of multiple Contractors and team members Work with a launch vehicle provider to schedule and track audits to be performed during rocket certification activities Develop products such data tables, audit checklists, presentations, and reports status to the customer. Reviews completed team products for completeness and acceptance. Compile and present weekly status charts of team to Air Force leadership. Complete perform audits and audit checklists in preparation for Engineering Review Boards and design reviews Interface with customer, design engineers, project manager, and production personnel. Participate in Engineering Review Boards and apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials. Examine product design and its implementation to manufacturing processes assessing/evaluating the manufacturing baseline for qualification, capability, process control and maturity. Assess documentation for proper configuration management and change control. Assess/ evaluate conformance to standards, specifications, drawings, procedures, work instructions, other contractual requirements and the trace-ability to the functional and physical characteristics of configuration items. Generate audit checklists and conduct production floor audits to verify documented processes are being followed. Review process changes to determine impact to process stability. Assess facilities manufacturing capacity, production readiness, and vendor/supplier control requirements. Mandatory Skills: A Bachelors Degree or higher in a relevant subject such as Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, and 8-10 years of relevant experience Strong background and experience in Aerospace and Launch Vehicles in the areas of Avionics, Flight Software and Guidance and Navigation Control, Structures, Propulsion.
