The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Senior Manufacturing Data Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading our manufacturing plants through deployment of Industry 4.0 and digital technologies

  • Implementing data automation and advanced analytics solutions

  • Determining solutions, tasks, estimates, and timelines based on customer requirements

  • Supporting IT, maintenance, safety, and other engineering disciplines on collaborative project teams

  • Working in a Scrum Team environment

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Five (5) years manufacturing systems, IT, data engineering, and/or process/manufacturing engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Process Data Historians, SQL databases and scripting, data pipelines, Power BI, Savigent Workflow, PLCs, OPC, REST APIs, C# programming, MES

  • Software development skills

  • Project management and good organization skills

  • Presentation, coaching, and mentoring skills

Location: Maplewood, MN and may consider remote U.S. work location

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic and/or international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
