This is a role for someone who craves a global challenge balanced by the desire to be accountable for delivering results in the largest business unit for Kraft Heinz. It is both a strategic and a tactical position. Those that do not want to get their hands dirty or answer tough questions without buying pre-packaged solutions should not apply.

The Senior Manager, Shopper Insights provides insights and recommendations for assigned KHC retailer customers through a mix of primary/secondary research and syndicated data sources. Key objectives of the role include providing thought leadership on big-picture shopper and industry trends, as well as to meet specific research and information needs within KHC and for our customers.

This position works closely with several stakeholders in our Sales, Category Leadership, and Brand/Marketing organizations, providing strategic consultation on business opportunities for each. The Senior Manager, Shopper Insights also provides leadership to improve the productivity and impact of research tools, methods, and processes across KHC.

Responsibilities include:

  • Customizes and localizes industry and KHC insights to create Customer-relevant solutions and sell-in stories, and to inform KHC and highlight opportunities for Customer activation.

  • Provides complete Customer and shopper research project support through identification of appropriate research objectives, design and execution of planned projects.

  • Directs the proper focus and prioritization of research and helps ensure that the right Customer Business team resources are included in the research projects.

  • Ensures that conclusions and recommendations for all research conducted are clearly communicated, bringing conclusions of research studies directly to bear on the Customer business issues and opportunities.

  • Guides the interpretation, use, and implications of consumer, marketplace, and environmental information to improve business decisions and customer knowledge base for future strategic planning.

  • Leads team in development of an annual Customer Situation Assessment and learning agenda that articulates key business issues and opportunities, and the role of shopper, category and customer insights in addressing these opportunities. Responsible for the objectivity and integrity (quantity, quality, timeliness) of insight information.

  • Provide leadership into the development of new, improved and/or more cost effective research tools, method, and process while bringing this new knowledge to bear on the company's business and decision making

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years consumer research /understanding of primary research expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Administration; MBA or MA in Social Science preferred with a concentration in research, marketing, or quantitative analysis.

  • Ability to apply business conclusions and insights to drive business planning and decisions.

  • Skilled in the application of advanced research design, appropriate methodologies, and statistical applications.

  • Skilled in identifying relevant information sources to explore shopper, customer and category business opportunities, and in drawing upon these various information sources to develop compelling communications that enable KHC and Customers to capitalize on business opportunities.

  • Proven analytical, communication, and influence management skills.

  • Personal computer expertise especially with Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills.

  • Ability to understand category and space management concepts and to integrate these concepts into learning opportunities.

  • Ability to work with category management teams to integrate shopper, category and customer insights into category management initiatives and communications.

  • Direct account selling experience, category and shelf management experience a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to work effectively with customer teams and external customers.

  • Project management skill.

  • Strong personal computer skills and analytical aptitude.

  • Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations based upon actionable insights

Along with Business Intelligence counterparts, aim to connect the dots across consumer, shopper and analytic projects to provide the highest impact. * Drive implementation of actionable insights and recommendations by working closely with the National Accounts and Sales Enablement teams on strategic projects and tasks force. Identify and elevate barriers within the organization to produce changes and meet the needs of the marketplace. * Establish and develop collaborative relationships with internal and external business partners. Hold vendors to high standard of research in methodologies, service and analysis. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP The position reports directly to the Manager, Shopper Insights and Analytics. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED * Demonstrated 4+ years of experience in Business Strategy, Insights, Analytics or Category Management functions. * Well-grounded in fundamentals of syndicated market intelligence sources and research and analytic methodologies, including both qualitative and quantitative. * Strong written and verbal communication skills; expertise in translating results from analyses into insights and actionable recommendations. * Proven experience in collaborating cross-functionally to develop ideas and strategies for a common goal. * Ability to develop relationships and work within a team structure, while also having the ability to work independently. * Experience in managing vendors such as IRi, Nielsen, etc. including advanced analytic approaches and multi-faceted research methodologies. * Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, along with solid business and financial acumen. * Strong PC skills (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), syndicated database experience (IRI or Nielsen). * Successful candidate will be highly motivated with the desire to grow within the organization. * Preferred Qualifications * MBA * Prefer beverage alcohol experience in a strategy, insights, or consumer analytics role * Understanding of the three-tier distribution system Physical Requirements/Work Environment * Physical Requirements: Requires the ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
