KPMG is currently seeking a Data Tax Manager/Senior Manager to join our Tax Transformation practice.
Identify areas in tax processes such as tax provision and return preparation that require improvements and provide potential solutions to increase efficiencies
Manage a team and interact directly with clients and other resources to obtain relevant data/retrieval from source systems data, loading/normalization, testing for accuracy/completeness, analysis/modeling, and reporting/communicating results
Manage large data sets including data in unusual formats, transforming data into a usable form, and aggregating data as needed using a variety of tools
Provide documents in formats consistent with project objectives and deadlines, review project deliverables, and resolve project issues
Develop and maintain project plans and other project management functions including liaising with client project teams
Communicate the short term & long benefits of software & data solutions to clients; evaluate clients' current tax software configuration for optimal use
Additional Responsibilities for a Senior Manager:
Identify and pursue opportunities in the market and lead team to deliver required services on project engagements
A minimum of five years of a combination of corporate tax experience gained in a well-regarded audit, tax, or advisory services firm, corporation, law firm, other service provider, or industry experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university along with focused coursework in the following majors with relevant analytics or data management: Management / Accounting Information Systems, Business Analytics, Information Science / Management, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Actuarial
Licensed CPA, J.D., LL.M, or certified in one or more technology applications such as Thomson, SAP, or Hyperion (Please note that any candidate hired by KPMG into this position that doesn't currently possess one of the aforementioned credentials/designations will be required to secure one within one year from the commencement of employment)
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, along with experience in utilizing Corporation tax provision and compliance software such as ONESOURCE and/or Corptax
Prior experience managing large data sets, including extraction from source systems, data cleansing and transformations, and providing preliminary descriptive and advanced analytics findings to business challenges
Excellent organizational, oral and written communications and people skills, attention to detail, able to multi-task, follow through and work independently as well as within a team structure
Ability to travel based on client and business demands
Additional Qualifications for a Senior Manager:
A minimum of eight years of a combination of corporate tax experience gained in a well-regarded audit, tax, or advisory services firm, corporation, law firm, other service provider, or industry experience
Demonstrated track record of business development
