The Senior Tax Manager will lead the company's tax compliance and tax controversy processes. The Senior Tax Manager will report to the VP, Tax. The candidate will oversee the preparation and review of the federal, state, local and foreign tax returns. The candidate will manage the income and sales tax audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong tax and accounting background and profound analytical skills.

Job Requirements and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in a public accounting firm and/or large public corporate tax department

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance or related degree is required

  • Either CPA and/or MBT is highly preferred

  • Strong understanding of federal and state corporate income tax laws

  • Strong understanding of state apportionment methodologies

  • Strong understanding of state nexus issues

  • Strong understanding of sales and use tax laws

  • Strong accounting background

  • Experience conducting tax research and ability to reach supportable conclusions

  • Exposure to multinational companies with issues in R&D, internet services and intellectual property areas

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to interface across all departments

  • Experience managing multiple projects and experience managing direct and indirect reports

  • Knowledge and experience dealing with issues relating to stock based compensation, including Section 162(m), and business combinations

  • PC knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office applications, GL Wand and Oracle

Job Duties:

  • Oversee the preparation and review of the federal, state and foreign income tax returns

  • Oversee the preparation and review of sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, gross receipts returns and other non-income tax returns

  • Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly estimated tax payments

  • Manage income and sales tax audits including the preparation of responses to inquiries from tax authorities

  • Coordinate special projects such as the R&D credit

  • Assist with coordinating VAT/GST payments and related issues

  • Assist the business development group by providing advice and conducting due diligence on M&A transactions

  • Assist with the quarterly ASC 740 tax provision calculations

  • Assist with the accrual for uncertain tax positions

  • Coordinate the preparation of transfer pricing studies

  • Analyze and review inter-company transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy
