Compensation includes a base salary of $117,300.00 - $195,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Cox Communications is currently looking for a Senior Manager, Talent Management to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a hybrid role, and the schedule is a mix of work-from-office/work-from-home. For internal candidates only, we will consider applicants in Cox Communications markets.

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager, Talent Management, to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing key talent management initiatives, with a focus on succession planning, talent planning, and performance management. As the Senior Manager, Talent Management, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization has a robust pipeline of talented individuals to meet both current and future business needs. This position leads a team of direct reports, and it requires collaboration with other divisions and various departments to execute effective talent management strategies.

Responsibilities:

Talent Strategy Development

  • Collaborate with cross-divisional partners on the development of tools, programs, and methods to continuously review and evolve the organization to support business objectives and strategy. Develop tools specific to Cox Communications not met through cross-divisional support.

  • Drive consistency in talent practices across divisions, promoting talent mobility and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to identify critical talent needs and address skill gaps.

Succession Planning and Pipeline Development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive succession planning framework. This includes identifying key positions, assessing leadership potential, and creating targeted development plans for potential successors.

  • Work closely with HR business partners and Talent Solutions partners to create functional succession charts. You'll ensure alignment across functions, enabling effective talent assessment and investment decisions.

  • Build a strong and diverse talent pipeline for critical roles within the organization and build career development tools to enable employees to own their career advancement.

  • Elevate the portfolio of development experiences to build talent (rotation, stretch assignments, mentoring and formal learning) independently and through partnership with Talent & Skills, Leadership and Executive Development, Talent Solutions, and external partners.

  • Critical Role Tracking: monitor and report on the succession progress for division-critical roles. You'll collaborate with Talent Partners and Executive Recruiting to ensure robust bench strength and diversity.

Performance Management

  • Serve as expert consultant and advisor, providing guidance and support on goal setting and performance management to include linking employee contribution methodology to rewards.

Team Leadership

  • Manage a team of two highly specialized individual contributors.

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.

Metrics and Analytics

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of talent and succession programs.

  • Collaborate with People Analytics teams to track, monitor, compile and report on metrics that measure the success of talent and succession planning efforts.

  • Regularly analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in a related discipline (i.e., Human Resources, Org Development, Leadership Development) and 8 years' experience in People Solutions, talent management, succession planning, and performance management. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 6 years' experience in a related field; a Ph.D. and 3 years' experience in a related field, or 12 years' experience in a related field.

  • 3+ years' experience in a management or leadership role.

  • Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and Google Smartsheet.

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with HR technology tools (e.g., Workday).

  • Able to travel 50%+

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Telecommunications or Technology.

  • Certification in SPHR, PHR, SHRM, SCP, or GPHR.
