The Senior Manager, System & Hospital Marketing job exists to raise awareness of heart valve disease (HVD) and change referring System/IDN and Hospital practices to improve patient diagnosis rates and increase referrals to treatment centers.

As the Sr. Manager, System and Hospital Marketing you will build our Patient Access System strategy by bringing together a cross-functional team of colleagues and external vendors. You will create a disease-state focused value proposition that will instill a sense of urgency to create change within Systems, IDNs and Hospitals at all levels to improve the Standard of Care for Heart Valve Disease patients. You will lead both strategic and tactical marketing which will be essential to meet our short- and long-term objectives of increasing diagnosis and referral rates, aligned with Edwards Lifesciences strategic imperatives.

Job Function:

  • Drive the development of the U.S. and Global System/IDN and Hospital strategy based on deep market, disease, and customer insights and competitive intelligence

  • Leadership and execution of a US-focused HVD tactical plan for relevant System/IDNs and Hospitals in collaboration with internal Patient Access stakeholders (e.g., Healthcare Solutions, Public Affairs, Medical Affairs, regional teams)

  • Drive development, execution, and implementation of disease programming

  • Develop messaging and content for relevant referring System/IDNs and Hospitals to raise awareness and change diagnosis and referral rates

  • Work with AOR, Healthcare Solutions, medical affairs, public affairs and other internal stakeholders to develop messaging and content for System/IDNs and Hospitals (and hospital/system administrators as needed) to increase disease awareness and diagnostic acumen

  • Develop and evolve campaign and execute the creation of unbranded materials for Creates marketing programs and customer facing tools targeting C-Suite, key stakeholders including committee members, executives, Clinical IT, procurement, medical directors and cardiology centers and practitioners within Systems/IDNs

  • Develop materials to highlight clinical evidence supporting changing standards of care and key diagnostic tools for detecting the disease for use in personal promotion

  • Structure, evaluate and optimize performance measurement for campaign and other programming

  • Serve as a lead and partner with Healthcare Solutions and other functional areas to execute Patient Access field-based strategy

  • Establish governance and cadence for field force and HCP/System marketing management across disease awareness and healthcare solutions teams

  • Drive streamlined, synergistic System/IDN facing activities and strategies as appropriate across both teams

  • Develop guidelines/SOPs for System/IDN engagement across the organization in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders; ensure disease awareness/market development engagement and collaboration as appropriate with other field facing teams

  • Influence change management across the organization at multiple levels

Experience and Style

  • Expert understanding of related aspects of marketing concepts and principles; System and Payer marketing, HCP marketing, unbranded/disease state education experience strongly preferred

  • System/IDN & Hospital marketing experience required, ideally including personal, print and digital tactics

  • Ability to create comprehensive System/Hospital and HCP marketing strategies with supporting plans and the ability to execute.

  • Possess the ability and desire to measure and track performance and success of programs/initiatives including field-based teams

  • Possess strong clinical knowledge, experience and knowledge of the clinical areas where Edwards' products are used or intended to be used

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

  • Recognized as an expert in one or more areas with broad-based advanced knowledge within the organization

Essential Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, graduate degree (e.g., MBA or MPH) preferred.

  • 13 years experience of marketing experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or general healthcare

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to represent leadership on projects within multiple areas, working closely with cross-functional team, marketing peers and leaders and managing needs and messaging to upper management

  • Ability to consult in project setting within multiple marketing areas, interfacing with low to middle management

  • Experience in managing external agencies and vendors and managing budgets

  • Proven successful project management skills; strict attention to detail

  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Domestic and international travel up to 20%
