Supplier quality engineers (SQEs) are responsible for coordinating suppliers and verifying quality standards in accordance with the SCIEX QMS. They perform regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, as well as actively participating in strategic development based on quality control plans. They serve as the liaison for suppliers, suggest structural quality and process improvements, and collaborate with Manufacturing and Development engineers in a team environment.

Additionally, supplier quality engineers identify technical problems with suppliers and implement corrective actions. They also increase quality reliability, use their engineering skills to execute tools for calibration systems, and regulate product transition requirements. SQEs shall maintain accurate quality records, certifications, and database screens. They may conduct capability assessments that verify supplier qualifications, travel to assigned suppliers, and lead multiple projects to completion. They are responsible to ensure process controls, and schedule reviews of the supplier's and quality performance.

The supplier quality Sr. Engineering manager (SSQM) is responsible to oversee the day to day operations of the SQE team. The SSQM will work with the supply chain management team to develop the overall strategy for supplier quality monitoring, including audits, scheduling, risk assessment and maintenance of the suppliers quality performance.


  • Build and develop a high performing supplier quality team

  • Responsible for establish and maintain process within purchase control including supplier quality Management.

  • Responsible for supplier audit, follow up supplier audit finding and check effectiveness

  • Participate new supplier selection

  • Lead MQP evaluation for new material.

  • Monitor supplier quality, perform supplier quality performance evaluation

  • Manage Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR)

  • Manage supplier change request

  • Drive supplier quality improvement activity.

  • Offer quality training.

  • Any agreed-to works by their superiors.

  • Bachelors degree in required or equivalent experience required

  • Minimum: 5 years experience in SQE or similar Engineering field

  • Minimum 2 years Management experience.

  • Fundamental knowledge of Quality-Systems related to ISO 13485:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 preferred

  • Profound experience on the performance of supplier audits as a Lead-Auditor preferred

  • Good knowledge of production techniques and processes required

  • Ability to follow prescribed procedures SOP's, BP's, etc. required

  • Creativity and ability for collaboration to increase the performance of the given framework

  • Strong analytical skills (risk based) and focus on the essential facts

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities

  • Experience working in an environment with global objectives


  • Travel up to 30-40% of the time, including occasional international travel
