Job Summary:

The ideal candidate uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to build, analyze, and continuously support the improvement of the enterprise Supervision Training, Awareness and Communications Program across Raymond James. Supports leadership to create, direct and manage the overall strategy and ongoing execution of supervision related learning and development processes as applicable across the organization. Leads projects and teams across Supervision areas with significant cross-functional business impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of the enterprise Supervision Training, Awareness and Communications Framework. Develop a strategy to incorporate emerging supervision risks and regulatory trends into the training curriculum and make recommendations on the most effective way to deliver training to supervision, business, and other key audiences of the Firm.

  • Support management with the governance and standards for firm wide supervision training, continuing education firm element programs, as well as supervision training coverage over areas of the firm governed by regulations and obligations.

  • Support the development, documentation and distribution of supervision training standards for the organization. Ensure implementation and monitoring of Supervision training.

  • Collaborate with the Organizational Talent and Development and HR technology teams to identify and implement enhancements to operational/logistical aspects of supervision training, including, but not limited to, training content delivery and identification of in-scope training participants.

  • Work with supervision management, especially Transformation and Strategy, to develop a communication plan and strategy for the supervision transformation program.

  • Develop and distribute content to create awareness and manage change of supervision transformation and other supervision management priorities and issues.

  • Coordinate with enterprise communications regarding messaging, distribution channels, etc.

  • Remain up to date with current regulatory and legal pronouncements that impact the business

  • Develop tactics to achieve strategic objectives across functional groups or within a business group.

  • Identify training needs and recommend appropriate development programs.

  • Establish objectives and develop processes and procedures to ensure efficient and timely work flow.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge of:

  • Organizational and time management skills sufficient to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced and fluctuating environment.

  • Learning and development course monitoring for completion, percentage complete and delinquencies.

  • Supervision, Compliance, Legal and Risk Management governance in the financial services industry.

  • Facilitation and presentation skills.

  • Strategic planning processes and tools and methodologies for strategy formulation.

  • Bank holding company and retail broker dealer clearing firm operations.

Skill in:

  • Aligning strategic and operational needs with learning & development solutions and linking initiatives to drive results.

  • Supporting the delivery of supervision training learning and development solutions through a mix of internal, contract and third-party outsourced resources.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills sufficient to professionally address a wide and varied audience both internally and externally.

  • Organizational and time management skills sufficient to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

  • Project management skills and experience sufficient to successfully complete long and short term projects.

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce documents such as reports, graphics, electronic communication, spreadsheets, and databases.

Educational/Previous Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A/B.S.) in a related discipline and minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Supervision and/or the financial services industry.


  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.


  • Appropriate series license(s) for assigned functional area preferred or the ability to obtain within an established timeframe.

  • Additional licenses/certifications demonstrating the candidate's knowledge/expertise in industry regulation and concepts preferred.

In conjunction with the Regional Supervision Officer, the Regional Supervision Manager has accountability for maintaining a consistent controlled environment through adherence of business ethics and practices and adherence to all applicable Federal, State and Local laws, Raymond James RJFS policies, and other regulations. The Regional Supervision Manager keeps the Regional Supervision Officer informed of significant matters. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Member of the Regional Supervision management team and participates in all the Regional Supervision management meetings regarding strategies, advisor communications, policies and procedures, etc. * Primary responsibility for all risk, supervisory, and compliance function for respective Regional Supervision management team location(s) – works with the Branch Managers and Regional Supervision Officers to ensure appropriate supervisory coverage is maintained at all times * Ensures Regional Supervision Officers are aware and involved in managing supervisory and risk management issues through regular meetings, reporting/metrics, and escalations * Facilitates any supervisory inquiry or process that requires escalation from the field * Acts as a point of escalation for the central supervision centers of expertise and works with these areas to resolve any supervision issues with advisors and/or field management in their respective regions * Provides review and approval for any policy exceptions or branch processes that require senior management approval within the Regional Supervision management team * Interacts with the central review team to share trends and patterns and discuss FA/Client visits -- Builds intelligence on risk in regard to clients and FAs within their region * Will work with Branch Managers to make proactive client contact in determining suitability and managing risk when appropriate * Performs a quality check on a portion of the supervisory issues that are remediated and documented for their by either the central supervision centers of expertise or local branch management * Conducts "mock audits" of the branches aligned to their Regional Supervision management team to ensure compliance with firm and regulatory policies * Supports the preparation for and response to internal or regulatory audits and tracks identified issues by audit, regulators, and self assessments to ensure that actions are taken and issues are remediated * Liaises with the Legal and Compliance Division with customer complaints and litigation * Ensure proper procedures are in place for the Regional Supervision management team to ensure that approvals are handled appropriately and timely -- Monitors and implements consistent enterprise procedures to manage all facets of risk, including data security * Facilitates regular and consistent communication of Raymond James RJFS policies and other regulations * Provides coaching and guidance on policies and procedures in order to promote risk awareness and a compliant environment Qualifications Qualifications: * Comprehensive understanding of company policies and procedures and industry rules and regulations. * Strong foundation in investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industry, Financial markets and financial products. * A proven leader who can establish and maintain a respected position of leadership to influence, motivate and persuade others to achieve desired outcomes. * Demonstrated ability to manage a distributed team of resources and establish and communicate clear directions and priorities for the team.
