Senior Manager, Software Engineering

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drives development, testing, deployments, and iterative improvement of product capabilities and features in collaboration with peers across Design, Product Management, and Engineering

• Leverages critical thinking, experimentation, data, and industry best practices to implement desired business outcomes

• Develops high quality applications that are secure, easy to operate, difficult to break, and extremely observable with measurable results.

• Responsible for all technical aspects of the product application lifecycle including, code, infrastructure, data, security, and CICD

• Establishes product engineering and software standards

• Sets vision and drives cultural transformation within the team and across the organization

• Leads technical initiatives across the organization

• Utilizes technical background to coach others through empathy and hands-on mentoring

• Manages multiple groups of engineers while embedded on a team as an individual contributor

• Effectively balances time between individual contribution and management

• Acquires, retains, and develops top and diverse talent

QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field

• 8+ years of experience in software development

• 4+ years of progressive management experience, developing and attracting multiple diverse teams

• Expert ability to manage multiple competing priorities

• Successful transformation of technical leadership into people leadership

• Expert knowledge of application design patterns, event-driven architecture,

• database schemas, and testing strategies

• Proven experience with large scale application troubleshooting and performance tuning

• Proven experience working with major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)

• Expert knowledge and experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment, and test driven development
