This Senior Manager
This vital leadership position will manage a co-mingled team of analysts, software development engineers, and database administrators in the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of the analytic platforms (both web and database) serving the needs of Express Scripts Pharmacy Benefit Management Services (PBMS). The reporting dashboards, data exports, and other analytics tools served through these platforms aid PBMS in reducing waste, improving quality, increasing speed, and maximizing throughput within our operations.
The individual holding this position will be expected to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Client Benefit Services, Coverage Review, Business Systems, Contact Center, and Communication Experience Delivery, as well as Technology, Finance, and Human Resources. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of platform personnel, development of their hard and soft skills, as well as actively looking for opportunities to improve these platforms and the content within them to better serve the needs of the team's internal business partners.
Responsible for design, development, deployment, and maintenance of analytic platforms (both web and database) related to PBMS.
Stakeholders with business partners and PBMS Analytics leadership to craft and prioritize a portfolio of projects aligned to critical organizational objectives.
Organizes and assigns work to analysts/engineers/DBA's in ways that promote productivity, accountability, and growth.
Seeks to continuously understand ESI and PBMS in order to make well-informed, well-aligned decisions as an enterprise-minded leader.
Puts expectations, controls, and processes in place to ensure vigilant support of high-quality, high-value analytic platforms and products.
Proactively identifies and develops training plans for knowledge gaps (technical or business-related) that limit team effectiveness.
Identifies opportunities and implements improvements to team platforms, processes, and tools to enhance team effectiveness.
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with Client Benefit Services, Coverage Review, Business Systems, Contact Center, and Communication Experience Delivery, as well as Technology, Finance, and Human Resources.
Provides status updates, relevant guidance, and thoughtful presentations to a wide array of internal business customers including senior leaders in PBMS.
Continually monitors the analytic tools, methods, and overall tech stack used by the department and critically assesses relative to an ever-evolving set of global competitors.
Bachelor's degree in related field with 5 years of experience.
11 years relevant experience without Bachelor's Degree.
A proven track-record of analytical/technical skill development.
Strong background in SQL - Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle, PostGres, Hive preferred.
Experience with Web Development
Able to effectively coordinate with essential IT partners to bring relevant experts to the table in order to deliver meaningful improvements.
A proven track-record of improving processes to more efficiently use time, storage, and processing strongly preferred.
A successful history of mentorship in managerial or non-managerial roles.
Able to develop and draw upon subject matter expertise in discussions with team member and business customers.
Able to turn high-level ideas into concrete action plans.
Able to prioritize across a wide array or projects and effectively communicate prioritization decisions to relevant stakeholders.
Able to effectively manage to agreed-upon deliverable dates.
Detail-oriented in delivery of platform enhancements, analytic products, and stability measures.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience in Healthcare, Pharmacy, Contact Center, and/or Print/Digital Communications a plus.
