In this position, you will:

  • Assume accountability for Genentech corporate social media and content strategies, plans and tactics

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in support of corporate social media strategies, plans, objectives, policies, procedures, and resources

  • People Management:

  • Develop and oversee the work of a social media community manager

  • Corporate Social Media Strategy/Planning:

  • Work with your manager and other Corporate Relations functions and team members to translate and guide overarching Genentech corporate objectives into digital strategies and plans

  • Lead development, implementation and management of corporate social media strategies, corporate campaigns, and other initiatives

  • Conceive, design, manage, and recommend opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of Genentech corporate social media, digital communications, and engagement or other key evolutions as these relate to Genentech's corporate identity and internal and external positioning

  • Communicate the corporate social media strategy and direction to various partners and stakeholders across the organization

  • Play the lead role in ensuring alignment of cross-functional business objectives with the broader corporate objectives

  • Lead development of processes and tools to address design workflows and other team needs

  • Identify, propose and secure the resources required to execute corporate social media strategies, plans and tactics. Includes developing and managing budgets and identifying, negotiating with and managing vendors and other internal colleagues supporting or otherwise involved in your work.

  • Provide guidance to other team members as needed; including providing senior level support, as needed, when engaging with cross-functional teams

  • As part of the Digital Strategy and Channels Leadership Team, support development of strategies, plans, objectives and infrastructure for the team (budgets, departmental policies/procedures, departmental tools and systems, team member training, etc.)

  • Corporate Social Media Strategy Execution/Management:

  • Help on-board, train, and guide the work of less experienced team members when needed

  • Serve as a liaison between the corporate digital team and other teams across the organization

  • Collaborate with other internal departments/groups/teams to communicate a cohesive message about the company

  • Create branded content for digital and other applicable channels, focusing on social media platforms

  • Draft or otherwise coordinate related corporate content, including assets, other communications and presentations

  • Lead social media campaign and content reviews, critiques, and brainstorming sessions

  • Participate in digital governance of digital and social channels

  • Ensure your work complies with Genentech digital and brand guidelines at all times

  • Provide ongoing consultation to key stakeholders and partners on corporate social media activities and execution through effective collaboration and ensuring stakeholder needs will be met or exceeded

  • Provide special or ad hoc support to your stakeholders, as needed

  • Monitor and manage corporate social media activities and execution to ensure consistently high quality, on-target, on-time and within-budget results

  • Measure the effectiveness of corporate social media strategies, plans and tactics and report/share best practices and any opportunities for continued improvement

  • As assigned, lead special or ad hoc projects or other Corporate Relations activities

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Candidates for this position should hold the following qualifications, have the following experience, and be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be considered as a suitable applicant. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Graduate or higher-level Degree is a plus

Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of evolving digital and social media technologies, platforms and best practices

  • In-depth knowledge of best practice digital communications, brand development, brand guidelines, and brand architectures (methodologies, structures, approach, communication channels, and innovative activities)

  • Knowledge of program impact assessment methodologies and practices

  • In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical or related industry is strongly preferred

Experience

  • 10 or more years' creative experience in digital media, web, and video

  • 6 or more years' experience in social media strategy development and execution with at least 2 or years specializing in this field in a corporate environment

  • Extensive experience managing vendors and other internal colleagues supporting and executing social media strategies, plans and tactics

  • Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding goals and objectives

  • Demonstrates full competence in all core corporate social media activities and responsibilities and operates with considerable independence

  • Demonstrates strategic agility. Has in-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry and is able to bring this knowledge to bear when advising stakeholders and partners on social media strategies, plans, objectives, tactics, implications and impact

  • Strong consulting skills with the ability to quickly assimilate business needs and circumstances and effectively advise others. Effectively advises internal stakeholders and partners on the most strategic, high-level or complex matters

  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills. Consistently executes multiple, and sometimes competing, activities and complex projects to high quality conclusion, on time, and within-budget

TECENTRIQ currently has three indications in Urothelial Carcinoma and Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer and is awaiting FDA approval in two more (Small Cell Lung Cancer and Triple Negative Breast Cancer). In addition, TECENTRIQ has multiple pivotal trial readouts in 2019 across a wide variety of tumor types. This Senior Marketing Manager position will primarily focus on developing access strategy and tactics for some of TECENTRIQ's marketed and pipeline indications and will report to the TECENTRIQ Marketing Director. Over time, the workload may evolve to include non-access related strategies and tactics, depending on the needs of the marketing team. The Senior Marketing Manager will continuously develop essential marketing capabilities (eg brand positioning, content development, organized customer, digital development, channel optimization etc) and business acumen (healthcare ecosystem, customer knowledge) that enable the development and execution of the integrated TECENTRIQ value proposition. Key Responsibilities * Supports the development and execution of TECENTRIQ's value proposition, customer positioning, and the end-to-end customer experience * Responsible for optimizing all marketing materials, including branding, messaging, and channel mix for target customers.
