Senior Manager, Service Reliability Engineering (SRE)
Model N is hiring a Sr. Manager, Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) reporting to the Sr. Director, Product Development. Sr. Manager, Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) leads a distributed team of talented Service Reliability Engineers working on a strategic, high-growth, cloud product.
Service Reliability (SRE) has a lot of similarities to Site Reliability (SRE) but due to nature of our enterprise product requires deeper understanding of Product Functionality and common technology used in ERP/CRM type products such as Java and Oracle RDBMS
Ensure critical and externally visible systems maintain the appropriate service levels to serve our customers' needs, and reduce the friction for managing change, while being strategic about capacity, and constantly managing performance.
Align with your counterparts across engineering, cloud operation, and draw on your strong communication skills to handle a variety of initiatives.
Deliver automation requirement to prevent problem recurrence and automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing SRE team.
Keep the team motivated to go beyond the expected in execution and thought leadership.
Lead by example, both technically and organizationally, and establish credibility with the quality of your and your team's technical execution.
Communicate effectively and present team progress to upper management.
Ability to assist the team in advance troubleshooting situation.
Ability to read and interpret system and application logs.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Master's in Computer Science or related field preferred
Minimum 5 years of management experience
Minimum 10 plus years of commercial software development and/or technical operations experience, and experience managing large-scale cloud-based applications
Experience with our core technology stack including Java, Oracle, Hadoop, SPARC, Jenkins, GITHub
Demonstrated ability to provide vision and direction to technical teams
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are critical to the role
Able to work effectively across multiple time zones to collaborate with peers in other geographies
Experience working with distributed teams, with US and India required and East Europe preferred
Experience working with embedded SRE concepts, where SREs are embedded into other DevOps and Product Team depending on need and time requirements, including participation in development sprints as well as operational backlog grooming
