Senior Manager, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting

Invitae is seeking a Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting. Ideally, this position will be based in our San Francisco headquarters, but flexible to work from our regional offices. Minimal travel may be required (when future conditions permit).
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings on Form 10-Q/K (HTML and XBRL)
Compile financial statements and draft footnote disclosure and MD&A
Prepare supporting tie-out packages
Update disclosure checklists
Manage internal and external review for these documents
Prepare quarterly earnings release tables, including non-GAAP financial measures; and
Assist in preparation and review of texts and scripts for earnings releases
Lead key technical accounting research
Monitor development in accounting and financial reporting
Provide US GAAP interpretation; and
Prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner
Be a key liaison with corporate development, external valuation specialists, and external audit for business combinations
Provide interpretation of new GAAP and SEC rules and regulations and the potential effect on Invitae's business. Ensure clear and concise written documentation of accounting conclusions and policies and compliance with industry regulations
Direct and assist in various ad hoc projects when needed, such as, business combinations, equity issuances, ERP implementation, and proxy statements preparation
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Eight (8) plus years of experience with CPA certificate and Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred
Extensive experience preparing and filing quarterly and annual SEC filings, includingpreparation of statement of cash flows, stockholders' equity, EPS, pro forma financial statements, and familiarity with non-GAAP financial information
Hands-on leader who's resourceful, has strong interpersonal communication skills, including written communications, and has a proactive, forward-thinking mentality
Ability to be flexible, work independently, and act as a strong team player with a superior attention to detail
Capability to be a key participant in the SOX documentation and requirements for the SEC/Technical Accounting team
Tech savvy proficient with MS Office, Workiva, and accounting research applications; Oracle ERP experience a plus
Strong team player yet able to work independently
Composed under pressure
Experience in life science, healthcare industries, or diagnostics segment preferred but not required
WHY POSITION IS OPEN:
Expanding the technical accounting and SEC reporting team due to growth, particularly the pending merger expected to close in Q4 2020.
This position will report to the Head of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting, with high visibility throughout the organization.
