The challenge

The Cloud Technology organization builds platform and client services that are foundational building blocks for many other Adobe products and services. Areas of focus include: identity, security, cloud storage, e-commerce, workflow management, synchronization, customer facing web apps, scalability, infrastructure management and search, just to name a few. Cloud Operations is responsible for ensuring Adobe's cloud platform, products and ecosystems are reliable, scalable and secure. Adobe IT is a part of the Cloud Tech (CT) organization. IT exists to "Unleash the true potential of everyone to deliver extraordinary experiences." This includes:

  • Delivering Enterprise, Employee and Data services and solutions

  • Running end-to-end operations for resiliency, reliability, redundancy

  • Running IT as a Business by being architecture driven and driving continuous improvement

Within the IT organization, the Enterprise Solution Services (ESS) team's primary mission is to Imagine, Architect, Craft and Lead the Applications that empower Adobe's business. The ESS organization is responsible for Marketing, Sales, Legal, Commerce, Finance, and Customer Support applications. As the Senior Manager - Sales Platform Engineering & Architecture, you will lead a team of Engineers and Solution Architects providing strategic and operational solutions for Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics and other leading cloud and on-premise applications. You'll act as the forward-thinking, technical inspiring leader to develop and implement a roadmap for technical engineering and architecture frameworks that the rest of the organization will adopt.

With your team, you will design, deploy and enforce common build tools, automation, deployment and release processes used by a group of 100+ engineers and analysts. Through your team's thought leadership you will engage with key project initiatives and lead the development and enforcement of reusable solution design patterns. Your team's responsibilities include driving current state and target state architecture with enterprise architects while working with engineering delivery teams to deliver against interim state architecture.

Our Sales Platform is complex and diverse, supporting business functions from lead, contact, account and opportunity management through quoting and contracting as well as professional services and customer success management across enterprise, SMB/Mid-Market and Partner selling motions. You and your team will have an opportunity to make a meaningful business impact through engineering and architecture rigor and discipline. We expect you to lead by example, improve and streamline existing processes, tackle technical debt head-on, encourage and enable autonomy, and allow each person on your team to better themselves.

What you'll do

  • Lead a team of 5-6 engineers and solution architects in North America.

  • Partner with Sales Platform technical product managers across geographies and define sales platform and operations roadmaps.

  • Partner with 5-6 engineering managers across geographies each overseeing 2-3 scrum teams to deploy and enforce your team's technical frameworks and architecture.

  • Oversee a suite of tools supporting Adobe's Sales Platform such as build automation (continuous integration / continuous deployment), environment provisioning, and platform monitoring.

  • Oversee a suite of applications that make up the Sales Platform including Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics.

  • Develop and drive a roadmap of platform development initiatives.

  • Engage with engineering managers and implementation teams that leverage the Sales Platform to inform roadmap, troubleshoot critical issues, and educate.

  • Collaborate with engineers to implement and extend common frameworks used within the Sales platform.

  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to engineers and architects including design consultations and ongoing code reviews.

  • Identify talent development opportunities and drive an agenda of constant learning and improvement.

  • Hire and on-board new talent and develop existing team members.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or equally challenging technical degree

  • 5+ years of software engineering management experience, preferably with employees in multiple and remote locations

  • Experience running a high-volume, large-scale system

  • Experience in all the common technologies in a modern cloud-based SaaS offering

  • Ability to craft persuasive arguments, effective documents, and compelling presentations

We are looking for a senior leader to be a part of this innovation and drive our customer technical engagements in Compute and Storage as part of the Micron Sales Organization. This Leader will be a Director of Field Application Engineers and lead a worldwide team of FAEs and Solution Architects focused on Technical Engagement with Micron customers in multiple market segments related to computing and storage - traditional Enterprise, Cloud, Client, Networking and Graphics Solutions. This role will be part of the Sales Organization and feeding into short term and long-term business generation activities that supports a revenue of over $12B a year. The Director of FAEs is a senior management role with expectations of thought and technical leadership. This person will interact with senior and executive management on strategy setting for the team aligned with Corporate, Sales and Business Unit (BU) goals. The leader will also interact with key business and technical leadership at customers. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more areas below * Strong understanding of the Compute and Storage Market from traditional enterprise storage to emerging trends in software defined storage, cloud computing and storage, application driven innovations in memory and storage. * Exhibit a customer focused approach. Experience working with customers in evaluating customer requirements, early engagement to enable product definitions and execution of Design Wins. Existing relationships with customers in the compute and storage ecosystem and demonstrated ability to influence key decision makers is expected * Strong Technical background in Datacenter Design and large scale infrastructure deployment, strong understanding of critical workloads/use-cases and related factors in infrastructure design and configuration, a critical understanding of the technology stack from software to hardware that can drive memory and storage innovations.
