The Opportunity:

This is an exciting time to join Arena Pharmaceuticals, a clinical stage biotechnology pharmaceutical company with a robust portfolio of assets across multiple therapeutic areas.

The Senior Manager of Sales Operations & Customer Analytics, reporting to the Senior Director, Commercial Analytics, will be responsible for leading the health system, managed care and account driven analytics strategy across the portfolio of products in support of the development of a data driven customer engagement plan. This position will play a critical role in the development and implementation of Arena's commercialization plan, specifically as it relates to Global and US Value, Access and Reimbursement

What you'll dive into:

  • Access Data Strategy Lead: Integration and management of managed care, health system and account level data into prescriber universe in support of value story development and customer engagement plan for Arena's first product and beyond

  • Identify necessary data sources to build the capability of mapping prescriber label data to accounts and health systems

  • Serve as the single point of contact for US and Global Access Marketing Team to understand business questions and recommend/provide solutions.

  • Develop schema and criteria for primary data generation (e.g., EMR, Chart Audit, etc.) as it relates to the Access Marketing Team business needs

  • Monitor trends in the customer landscape such as account consolidations, practice mergers, health systems, etc.

  • At times, conduct or collaborate with primary market research colleagues to conduct qualitative or quantitative market research to fill data gaps

  • Ability to leverage secondary data sources to support market understanding to provide ad hoc decision support for internal customers.

  • Commercial Data Strategy Lead for CRM: Collaborate with commercial technology to provide business requirements for the development of the CRM for use by cross functional commercial colleagues (marketing, access, sales, etc.)

  • Align on the vision of the CRM utility with commercial colleagues and develop recommendations for design

  • Facilitate the technology integration between IT and data vendors

  • Work with compliance to define requirements and appropriate views and utility of the system based on function

  • Develop recommendation for and implementation of BI Tool for local to national level reporting

What we expect

  • Bachelors, Master's degree preferred

  • 7+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech experience or consulting/data supplier experience with strong knowledge of pharmaceutical market

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or other windows based analytical tools

  • Experience with CRM databases, preferably Veeva

  • Understanding of secondary data sources in the pharmaceutical industry

What You'll Do * As the Senior Manager of New Customer Strategy & Operations, you will be responsible for making sure the experience for customers new to "Wayfair Professional" makes them want to shop with us again and again. * Partner with a cross-functional team including Marketing, Sales, Product, and Finance among others. * Determine how our sales team should interact with new customers. * Identify opportunities to improve our operating model to improve efficiency across our sales ecosystem. * Lead diagnostic analysis to understand and influence the health of our business. * Introduce new initiatives into the Sales organization. * Influence the long-term strategy for Wayfair Professional. Your output won't just live on a PowerPoint page, but in the actions of hundreds of sales professionals and associated teams as part of a nine-figure, rapidly-growing business What You'll Need * Given the strategic and cross-functional nature of this role, a qualified candidate must have strong quantitative and analytical skills, as well as excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. * Experience working in a matrix environment and managing cross-functional projects required. * Experience managing a high-performing team, and a track record of developing talent required. * Experience working in a fast-growth company or shaping your own work plan preferred. * Previous experience in one of the following roles preferred: strategy consulting (ideally with exposure to sales strategy, go-to-market strategy, call center operations, or customer experience strategy); inbound sales strategy; call center / contact center strategy & operations or transformations; customer success strategy & operations; or customer experience strategy. * Bachelor's degree and six+ years of experience required.
