The Business Architect role sits within the Business Applications Sales Strategy team in the Worldwide Commercial Business organization, and is responsible for designing the sales levers across customer segmentation, specialist sales role design, specialist sales resource allocation, compensation design, sales play prioritization and overall sales model. In addition, this role will focus on Microsoft's Enterprise and Public Sector customer segment and work in close partnership with the One Commercial Partner and Customer Success organizations to build the end-to-end engagement model to accelerate our growth.
We are looking for candidates with the following experience:
8-10 years of work experience in the IT market; special focus will be placed on candidates with strong experience in SaaS and business application SaaS
2-5 years of management consulting experience in IT, especially from Tier 1 firms
Experience with sales model design or sales operations (e.g., sales process, headcount / blueprint design, compensation levers, etc.)
Experience working directly with senior sales executives and Field sales teams
Experience building forward-looking performance indicators that help anticipate issues
A track record of delivering complex projects that have measurable results

Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to partner with many different business partners and work in a virtual team environment
Ability to be detail oriented and also step back and identify the "headlines" or major takeaways
This role will involve some international travel.

This role will drive the annual planning process for the Business Applications Enterprise segment and then monitor performance to identify what parts of the sales model work well and should be expanded as well as where opportunities exist and should be adjusted. It will require close partnership with other corporate teams in product marketing, engineering and M&O to understand roadmaps and ensure we stay ahead of competition.
Finally, it will be critical for this role to have first-hand experience on the voice of the customer. This role will be expected to engage with customers and partners directly to understand what is working well, what needs to be adjusted and what needs to be amplified. A successful candidate will be able to be a sought-after speaker for Field sales teams as well for customer presentations at Microsoft's Executive Briefing Center. Specifically, this role will be expected to deliver presentations out Microsoft's Executive Briefing Center to top customers on the role Business Applications can play in the customer's digital transformation journey and do deeper presentations on a couple workloads.
Successful candidates will aspire to develop a career path as a sales executive, and this role will help them understand the major levers to managing a worldwide sales organization. It will be a springboard to help move into closer customer-facing roles.
