The Senior Manager Risk Management will support the Director of Risk Management in the managing of the defined benefit and defined contribution fixed income portfolios, asset/liability management for the defined benefit plan and total fund risk analytics. They will also support the performance measurement function and help develop the overall risk culture/approach/standards for Trust Investments.
In conjunction with the Director of Risk Management, develop and articulate the strategy for the fixed income portfolios; construct and maintain optimal portfolios through the use of specific managers and products; monitor existing portfolio investments for performance and risk management; participate in the due diligence process on potential investments
Help lead the asset liability management function for the defined benefit plan; manage the interest rate hedging strategy; coordinate with Actuaries to lead liability analysis; calculate the quarterly Liability Return and analyze results; produce liability and risk-management related content for the Investment Committee and other forums; work with the Glidepath Committee to implement the de-risking Glidepath plan
Lead the total fund risk analytics initiative; manage the relationship with analytic provider; maintain asset and liability data integrity; develop total fund risk reporting to monitor key risk metrics including surplus risk, asset liability volatility and stress testing
Support the Performance Measurement & Reporting function with the Analyst Risk Management & Trust Operations. Responsible for performance measurement policies, benchmark calculation, procedures/controls, and performance measurement recordkeeping and data management to support ongoing reporting requirements.
Monitor developments in risk management, as prompted by regulation, accounting, legislation, and/or foreign market practices.
Monitor industry practices in risk management, among investment managers and plan sponsors.
Benchmark assessments, best practices identification and implementation.

Experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
3+ years researching and analyzing data
Experience in an investment related field
Progress towards CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and/or MBA
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field
Experience with defined benefit pension plans
