What you will be doing

Lead the Grocery Retail revolution at Albertsons with bold strategic thinking, impactful growth initiatives, and best-in-class execution to become the #1 Grocer of choice for our customers.

The Own Brands Senior Manager, Revenue Management, can be located in any of the following locations near a division or corporate office: Pleasanton, CA, Boise, ID, Plano, TX, Arlington, TX or Phoenix, AZ,

This role is a part of the Own Brands Revenue Growth Management (RGM) Execution team. This team is a strategic part of our vision and will enable a step change in driving Albertson's Companies' ability to leverage data as a strategic asset. Within this team, you will support strategies of the RGM team with analytical tools, processes, and insights. In this role, you will bring your experience in data analysis, finance, and business storytelling to help identify revenue growth opportunities, optimize promotional strategies, and improve overall profitability.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Revenue Growth Management, the position's principal objective is to lead the development and execution of revenue growth strategy, including short- and long-term strategic plans and analytics

for budgeting and trade funds to drive top and bottom-line growth. The position offers a unique experience not found within any other Sales function because of the high degree of interaction with sales, marketing, finance, and insights teams within the organization.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop business rationale supported by data/analytics, develop Pricing/Promotional plan, present to senior management, and track implementation/execution.

  • Analyze large datasets to extract insights on market trends, competitive shifts in strategy, and revenue drivers.

  • Build reports to monitor base & promotional pricing by division and provide weekly update to leadership.

  • Partner with Sales teams to define the role of pricing in categories, ensure alignment to strategic objectives and consideration of competitive pricing and promo strategies.

  • Partner with leadership to understand business initiatives and related pricing implications. Anticipate marketplace events and develop "what-if" scenarios to address changing business dynamics.

  • Lead communication and alignment to sales and marketing organizations on development, execution, and review of pricing actions including development of "selling stories" for sales team for all pricing actions.

  • Lead collaboration with cross functional partners and external stakeholders. (e.g. Finance, Sales, Pricing Team).

  • Collaborate with Finance to assess financial KPIs that accompany various pricing scenarios.

  • Support Division leaders on ad hoc pricing and promotional activity requests.

  • Own the RGM/Own Brands trade budget and P&L; forecast budgets and promotional calendars; provide promotional ROI.

  • Collaborate with Sales to identify promotional risks and opportunities.

  • Manage offshore support teams.

  • Work to maximize the team's efficiency, productivity, and performance.

  • Prioritize and develop the team by providing regulator feedback and setting clear goals.

  • Operate with an enterprise mindset, making decisions that account for the impact across their stakeholders and team.

The salary range is $102,700.00 to $143,800.00 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

What we are searching for

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Marketing, Economics, or Finance.

  • 8+ years experience selling / influencing decision makers.

  • 8+ years of Revenue Growth Management, Category Management, and/or Finance (emphasis in pricing and promotion) experience for a CPG or retail company.

  • Deep understanding and experience with the leading analytical methodologies to analyze category performance in a CPG or retail environment.

  • Expert knowledge of Own Brands' operations and business.

  • Experience and knowledge with syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, Spins).

  • Experience with budgeting, P&L ownership, forecasting, and ROI analyses

  • Excellent analytical skills and an elevated level of competency with modeling, complex analytics, consumer research, customer databases, category management analytics, PC skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) in addition to platforms such as PowerBI, Snowflake, Periscope, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead cross functional team members and external stakeholders to deliver projects.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking. Strong understanding and application of innovation thinking and the 4Ps of marketing.

  • Demonstrated high capacity, strong work ethic and productivity. Ability to multi-task and manage many complex projects and priorities.

  • Expert organization, prioritization, and project management skills, with the ability to develop detailed timelines and ensure all milestones are delivered by due dates. Ability to track issues across multiple locations / departments / divisions.

  • Demonstrated successful written and oral presentations skills. Ability to structure and deliver persuasive recommendations.

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to go above and beyond to deliver results, defining projects without direction from others.

  • Demonstrated strong analytics and category management.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders to manage the business.

  • Must be able to understand and communicate techniques involved in training, merchandising and marketing Own Brands items.

  • Strong customer service focus and team building skills. Strong understanding of the Albertsons divisions and how to influence merchandising.

  • Advanced presentation skills with the ability to present to senior leaders both internally and externally.
