This position works cross functionally with multiple stakeholders to offer solutions for product and process improvements. Investigates, establishes and implements projects in development of new or improved product platforms, methods, processes and technologies that will support sustained business growth or defense of brand market position. Position Identifies facilities, equipment, personnel, and budget investment for project activities. Develops business plans for capital expenditure and evaluate and initiate purchasing of equipment and supplies for project activities. Works with various stakeholders to establish, monitor and revise strategic suppliers of Dyes and Chemicals that support HBI's goals in achieving cost, quality and global compliance to our sustainability goals. Provide assistance in investigating and troubleshooting on selected projects in a support role where required.
With business leads, PD and leadership direction, identify new chemistries, technologies and processes both outside and within the Textiles, Apparel and Chemistry areas to design and develop improved products, components or processes.
Identify potential technology partners across Academia, Commercial and Industry Bodies for HBI to partner with to bring to market new and innovative products at a cost competitive advantage.
In partnership with operations and facility leadership develop robust policies and procedures to drive continuous process improvement and cost savings initiatives.
In partnership with Procurement develop strategic partnerships and agreements with suppliers for global Dye and Chemical supply that meets or exceeds HBI requirements for cost, quality, performance and environmental sustainability.
In partnership with R&D, PD, Procurement and VP of Sustainability identify and develop reporting matrices that support HBI's Global Sustainability goal, as relates to both internal production as well as TKS production in regards to wet textile processing.
Monitor project progress against expected outcomes and prepare clear and timely reports and communications as required.
Identify best practice in the textile wet process areas that can be leveraged across both internal facilities and TKS facilities globally to ensure consistent products and processes are utilized in all HBI products.
In partnership with Procurement, and VP of Sustainability provide active role in review of Dye and Chemical request and assist in maintaining Chemical Management System.
Develop the business case for investment through internal research and communication as well as external technology research for management evaluation.
Required Education: BS in Chemistry, Textile Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related science.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree or related experience

10 years' experience in an Textile R&D, Wet processing or Dye & Chemical Manufacturing and/or experience working on government and/or academic research contracts required.
Experience in garment construction (design, materials engineering and testing, manufacturing processes in Underwear, Intimate Apparel, Hosiery, Active Wear ) required.
High degree of competency using project management tools essential.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills required.
Ability to travel internationally essential.
Bilingual in English and Spanish essential
