The Senior Manager, Procurement / Purchasing oversees a team, leading efficiency, and integrity of the processes for procurement of goods and services. The main responsibility of this role is to provide management oversight in the planning and execution of the purchasing activities necessary to ensure the timely delivery of the specified materials and services at competitive pricing and quality to meet business needs. This role ensures that the team acts in a coordinated way to execute all P2P purchasing related processes successfully and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures that the necessary processes and systems exist for the buying team to execute their everyday activities.

  • Ensure materials and supplies purchased are within budget guidelines.

  • Maintain sound relationships with vendors and clients, intervene with escalated queries from these stakeholders on the P2P process.

  • Ensure responsive service and timely resolution of all issues.

  • Understand the contractual responsibilities related to agreements with key indirect suppliers.

  • Ensure that vendor price matrices are maintained, updated, and kept up to date with Strategic Sourcing Team.

  • Contribute to the creation of spend forecasts and then monitor these against the actual spend.

  • Manage and streamline purchasing processes, using current tools and automation opportunities to eliminate manual steps in the process.

  • Ensures that the necessary processes are in place to drive continuous client satisfaction and use client satisfaction as a key benchmark for success.

  • Acts as people manager for the employees within the purchasing team and ensure the full utilization of resources.

  • Coaches and develops individuals in the purchasing P2P team and takes the lead in critical situations.

  • Identify areas to consolidate/reduce tail spend vendors under $200K through spend analysis.

  • Develop KPI's and initiatives to drive purchasing enhancements through data analysis.

  • Make tactical buying recommendations and/or decisions for various sourcing activities.

  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy and drive compliance to purchasing rules and regulations.

  • Administer on-line purchasing systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of global sourcing and procurement strategies, tactics, processes, procedures, and systems

  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems to streamline processes, manage data effectively, and enhance efficiency.

  • Ability to leverage technology solutions to optimize procurement operations.

  • Understanding of the market conditions and trends

  • Broad knowledge and understanding of Facilities and IT industry environment and business needs.

  • Good knowledge of inventory and supply chain management

  • Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders and colleagues at all levels.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.

  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills

  • Good knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to drive cost savings.

  • Good big picture planning and excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and professionally.

  • Ability to establish and manage processes and practices through collaboration and the understanding of business.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to present information clearly and succinctly.

  • Good leadership skills with the ability to manage a team.

  • Ability to recognize opportunities for enhancement and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to coach and mentor a team to drive deliverables.

  • Working knowledge of negotiation techniques in the industry

  • Solid judgement along with decision making skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience gained through increasingly responsible management positions within Procurement / Purchasing

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business or related

  • General Qualification in Supply Chain Management / Purchasing / Business Management (Degree)

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)

  • SAP S/4Hana and Oracle Experience Required

  • Experience in a similar purchasing role within a large scale (preferably multi-national) technology services environment

  • Extended data mining within PowerBI & Excel to identify savings and cost reduction opportunities to drive a savings start within the team.

  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management (i.e., Ariba, Coupa, e-maintenance, Gatekeeper).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily walking, sitting, standing, and bending.

  • Ability to travel overnight (Fly/Drive) once a month (3-4 days) to a shared work environment within the US.

  • Able to hear and speak on a telephone.

  • Close visual work on a computer terminal.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required to operate computer keyboard, mouse, other technical instruments, and for performing cable terminations and testing.

WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is expected to be remote for the near future with a monthly need to be on-site in a shared work environment for a collaboration team meeting (3-4 days).

  • Extensive daily usage of workstation or computer.

  • Some travel as required.

  • Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver's license.

This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $ 129,600 - $ 189,300.

All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
