Job Description

This Senior Manager role reports to the Director of the Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE) and is a hybrid role, focused on (a) competitive bidding for complex spend categories and international markets and, (b) project and operational work in support of center-led process and technology. Gilead continues to rapidly progress overall procurement and strategic sourcing maturity and this position will be relied on as a strong contributor to our goal of becoming a world-class procurement function by 2020. Superior communication, competitive bidding and negotiation experience, presentation and change leadership & management skills are required.

Essential Functions

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to develop strategic sourcing strategies in support of business goals

  • Prepare and efficiently execute proactive competitive bids for complex categories and international markets with a data driven approach, establishing a network of business partner-supported preferred suppliers and stakeholder-validated Cost Improvements equal to at least 10:1 ROI

  • Know, quickly develop or facilitate internal knowledge for supply markets

  • Support process and capability improvement projects, and operational excellence to ensure Gilead is brilliant at the basics of world-class procurement

  • Provide CoE support to procurement and sourcing professionals across the extended team

Knowledge, Experience and

Skills:
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience (must have 5+ years in a role focused on competitive bidding and contract negotiation).

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (MBA or other Masters-level education is a plus).

  • Ability to engage internal and external stakeholders effectively, facilitate discussions, influence effectively and develop relationships; Ability to drive efforts and projects through relationships and a broad knowledge base.

  • Self-motivated, proactive and responsive, highly organized, results-oriented and attentive to detail

  • Knowledge and understanding of Change Management principles and methodologies

  • Knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma and Lean principles Green or Black Belt certification preferred.

We currently have an opportunity to lead our Talent Acquisition and Resourcing Excellence, on a worldwide basis. The role will be based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Foster City California. With the continued growth of the organization, the TA function has the opportunity to scale up how we deliver recruitment to the business in a more strategic, efficient and agile way. The success of the role will be measured by improving our Talent Acquisition team's resourcing excellence which will directly impact quality of hire, hiring manager satisfaction, and overall candidate experience. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record in improving candidate experience whilst driving strategic sourcing, employee branding and engagement. They will have experience with the evaluation, design and implementation of core Talent Acquisition processes and systems on a global basis. Specific Job Requirements The role will require, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities: * Strategic Sourcing - including channels, candidate messaging, technology, tools and processes & AI * Candidate experience – looking at people & User Experience, process and systems. * Business Intelligence – using competitive intelligence, analytics & metrics. to create a more strategic approach to resourcing to achieve greater ROI from sourcing channels. * Candidate Engagement – Lead strategy development and implementation of global employer brand and media.
