The Senior Manager of Pricing and Strategic Contracts is responsible for the development and implementation of the pricing/contracting strategy for branded products. This role will interact with Sr. Director of Pricing and Contracting strategy, account management team, finance, legal, trade, contract administration, healthcare compliance functions to ensure the execution of contracting strategy with managed care organizations, specialty pharmacy networks and hospital GPOs, IDNs for US Biologics, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and CNS product lines. Must possess a strong understanding of contract law and healthcare compliance and strong business acumen.
Lead the creation of pricing and contract strategy for new product launches and inline product renewals. Effectively work with all key stakeholders to drive alignment on the contracting strategies and how they impact business.
Ensure alignment of pricing and contracting strategies with financial goals and brand strategies and organization goals and objectives (engage and enroll all key stakeholders).
Develop and implement contract strategy dashboards tracking pricing & contracting strategies and business impact.
Proactively conduct competitive analysis and evaluate the changing marketplace and proactively report the changes to the management
Develop appropriate pricing and contracting strategies to reflect the Company's offering
Develop and communicate contracting strategy for each channel to market and work with legal team to develop contracts
Work with IT to create a share point or similar site to centralize all contracts and approval documents
Collaborate with account management team to understand the PMB/payer landscape and trends
Develop strong relationships with customers in key channels (i.e. physicians, hospitals, GPO's, LTC, government and payors)
Track and monitor strategy deployment
Develop operational database, tools, dashboard and related sales interfaces to evaluate strategy deployment
Report to management contracting strategy effectiveness vs. expected results
Develop database to track list price changes and competitive intelligence
Create a database to track and the list price changes to ensure accurate calculation and reporting.
Monitor the competitive landscape, oversee all competitive intelligence and seek out all avenues for new business and maintain contracts profitability across all channels
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering or other critical thinking major
Advanced business degree (MBA) preferred.
5+ years' experience in the US pharmaceutical industry with experience in contract development and operations; experience in contract negotiation and account management desirable.
Strong knowledge of payor, specialty pharmacy, retail, hospital, physician, GPOs and the contracting process within those organizations
Possess a thorough understanding of healthcare economics, and the drivers of pharmaceutical demand
This incumbent must have the highest degree of integrity and timeliness while developing creative solutions and contract offering to continue to grow sales.
Knowledge of account management desirable.
Proven teamwork and collaboration skills with a demonstrated track record working with matrixes, cross-functional work teams
