Growing consumer lending is a top priority for AmericanExpress, especially as the company mobilizes to capitalize on key growthopportunities. The Pricing team is part of the Global Consumer Lending Groupand plays a critical role in serving Customer needs and supporting theprofitability of the company. This position will be responsible for developingpricing strategies for card and non-card products, managing acquisition yieldand leading acquisition analytics and strategy for US Consumer Products. Thisposition will work closely with key partners across different functions andacross different levels of seniority.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive innovative business pricing strategies that will grow the lending portfolio while effectively pricing for risk

  • Develop pricing strategies that support the portfolio through different business cycles

  • Drive multiple work-streams simultaneously by forming effective partnerships with different functional areas across the business including Acquisition, Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Public Relations, and World Service

  • Ideate, design and analyze price testing strategies that aim to deepen and engage customers early in their tenure while maintaining product margins and driving incremental revenue

  • Present insights and recommendations to senior leaders to help shape lending strategy

  • Analyze customer data and lending portfolio trends to identify customer insights and revenue opportunities

  • Perform competitive benchmarking byeffectively leveraging qualitative and quantitative information.

  • Strong strategic thought leadership to identify business needs, drive towards tactical solutions for those needs,

  • Ability to drive multiple project simultaneously and influence business partners to prioritize key initiatives

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to leverage large data sets to inform business decisions;

  • Strong will-to-win, intellectual curiosity, drive to do what it takes to meet deadlines with a "can do" attitude

  • Innovative thinker and creative problem-solver who is able and willing to challenge the status quo

  • High quality written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across different functional teams across different levels of seniority

  • Advanced degree or MBA is a plus but not a requirement

  • SQL and/or SAS experience are a plus but not a requirement

The US Consumer Lending Customer Management team plays a critical role in developing and adjusting strategies to drive growth and build margin resilience from our existing customers. The team is also responsible for leveraging quantitative and qualitative analytics to deliver actionable insights and shepherd end-to-end execution for select strategic initiatives with close partnerships across various cross-functional stakeholders. The Customer Pricing Strategy & Analytics team plays a critical role in enabling the innovation and delivery of this vision. This position will be responsible for developing pricing strategies for existing customers to deepen engagement, manage customer yield and lead offer testing strategy. This position will work closely with key partners across different functions and across different levels of seniority. Job Responsibilities: * Analyze internal and external customer data as well as lending portfolio trends to identify customer insights and revenue opportunities * Develop and analyze price testing strategies for the customer base that aim to deepen customer engagement while maintaining product margins and ultimately driving incremental revenue * Monitor customer touch points (e.g., call listening) and translate to insights that lead to actionable changes that benefit customer experience * Deliver actionable insights and recommendations through compelling story-telling to senior leaders to help shape lending strategy * Effectively influence customer treatment and pricing strategy to drive growth and build margin resilience * Form effective linkages with business partners in different functional areas including Marketing, Risk, Finance, Legal / Compliance, Public Relations, & Servicing * Bachelor's required; technical advanced degree or MBA is a plus * Highly motivated self-starter who is able to blend strategic thought leadership, business judgement and financial acumen to identify business needs and drive towards solutions for those needs * Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage large data sets to drive insights and strategy; experience in (or strong desire to learn) programming languages (e.g., SAS, SQL or R) is preferred * Ability to manage and drive forward multiple projects simultaneously * High quality written and oral communication skills; experience developing presentations for senior leadership and cross-functional partners * Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across functional teams and levels of seniority * Understanding of credit card economics, the overall Amex business model and CRM strategies are a plus Employmenteligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as thecompany will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
