Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Retail Operations Plan and Align plays a key role in ongoing strategic assessment of the roadmap strategy, leading KPI and metrics assessment in measuring programs in the portfolio. You will be responsible for managing the labor optimization and analytics operating models, including vetting of business plans which will influence and determine pilot, projects and initiatives status. Key will be rigor for overall field workload management via analyzing process and kpis (as determined by the activity-based labor optimization model) ensuring everything in the portfolio is measured against business cases, metrics and including qualitative and quantitative inputs with scenarios run and vetted resulting in continuous improvement to improve productivity and profitability of stores.

Develop tools and resources for setting and monitoring of KPIS and goals, prior to all store rollout (while applying forecasting, model regression, workload and capacity planning) in parallel assess against current programs enabling us to apply a data driven approach to go/no-go decisions around net-new work, the continuation of current program and or/ stopping programs to allow room for newness. This position will require the ability to influence cross-functional businesses partners, peers and teams throughout the organization, as well as spend considerable time developing and leading key projects in line with Operations strategy.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assess and provide comprehensive analysis for retail roadmap cycle which will include an understanding of the core workload and capacity to implement new vetted market potential, while managing the constraints of resources and financial budgeting.

  • Creating and establishing tools to evaluate cost of new market strategies, assessing projects in an apples to apples comparison from business cases provided into our fixed selling workload capacities ensuring they are aligned and meet Company financial goals and metrics (via sizing of projects by a variety of data metric variables, estimates of potential sales ensuring net-new work does not result in dilution or cannibalization), introduction to market and distribution/channel issues.

  • Plans, organizes and coordinates assigned programs to regularly asses and ensure accomplishment of kpis and budgetary goals.

  • Develop and continually refine reporting and analytics providing analytical insights for net-new work throughout the established Governance Gate process, allowing data driven decisions to be made

  • Vet, assess and forecast, store workload (from across the organization) managing and adjusting to forecasted annual workload budget.

  • Provide executive leadership consistent and accurate reporting, dashboards on current workload forecast and trends (core workload and prioritization); alert when negotiations need executive level decisions

  • Lead complex projects and initiatives

  • Support messaging, presentation and project support "telling a story" that provides insight into the business by leveraging data

Requirements- Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum 8 years in a highly analytical role

  • Ability to execute strategies for improvement and day-to-day support of efficient operations.

  • Strong analytical and research skills to evaluate complex operations data, distinguish multiple components of a problem and develop conclusions using quantitative methodologies.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills with an emphasis towards process; can convert analysis into insights.

  • Understanding of problem solving and knowledge of root cause analysis tools.

  • A good communicator who is able to explain financial and analytical conclusion to audience with varying degrees of understanding

  • Strong systems acumen (Access, Tableau, Smartsheets,Cube). Expert level proficiency of Microsoft Office- especially PowerPoint and Excel and experience in Smartsheet or similar project management software.

  • Creative problem solver capable of balancing trade-offs and maintains a vision for continuous improvement

Ideally have worked on various size convention booths (tabletop up to 100x100) * Collaborate with internal partners (primarily marketing and medical leads), stakeholders, and external partners to develop an in-depth understanding of their business needs and objectives and execute vision into successful conventions. * Manage budget and resource allocation for assigned conventions. Responsible for goals and objectives meeting high-standards and within budget. Ensure the most cost-efficient and effective resources are deployed to avoid redundacies in work efforts. * Complete evaluation and reporting, identify and share best practices and develop best-in-class convention strategies that enable internal client groups to achieve their business objectives and goals. * Identify, negotiate, contract, and manage vendors, agencies and exhibit house; ensure high quality and cost-effectiveness, and ensure SLAs are met. * Ensure events are fully compliant with governing laws, regulations, as well as Genentech-specific policies and procedures.
