SUMMARY OF ROLE
SunPower is seeking a Partner Relationships Manager (PRM) to be responsible for supporting project success by identifying, vetting, initiating and managing relationships with consultants and subcontractors in new regions and areas where SunPower already has a presence. PRM will work with Development Project Managers, Services Procurement Managers, Project Engineers and Project Managers to identify and prioritize unmet suppliers needs in certain regions. PRM will work to cultivate partnership-based relationships with key suppliers; and to be a champion for these partners, while also ensuring SunPower needs are met. PRM will use their awareness of the project pipeline in certain regions to develop supplier interest and preferential pricing, with a focus on capable design-builders to manage portfolios or disparate projects within a contiguous region and timeframe.
PRM will use their knowledge of solar design and trades work, contracts management, negotiations, and industry contacts to grow and enhance SunPowers network of suppliers, and will also be responsible for coordinating periodic business reviews with key suppliers and their SunPower customers. PRM will act as a point of escalation when relationship needs are not met by other party, SunPower or supplier. Success will be measured by supplier availability and pricing alignment to SunPowers budgets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Coordinate with Development Project Managers and Project Management teams to understand regional pipelines of probable projects.
Use RFP requirements, site analysis, product specifications and other information to identify optimal partners.
Identify and collaborate with local suppliers willing and able to support Development Project Managers and Account Executives in development of opportunity scope, schedule and budget deliverables whenever possible.
Leadership role in regional sourcing events.
Coordinate with Project Managers and Procurement Managers to develop meaningful portfolio-level RFQ and RFP.
Lead and coordinate periodic business reviews, compiling feedback from project teams and suppliers.
Coordinate with Services Procurement Managers to develop and maintain meaningful supplier knowledge base, including regional coverage, core competencies, and performance history.
Provide actionable feedback to Development Project Managers and Estimators regarding schematic scope, schedule and cost targeting.
Engage Project Design and Management teams with any potential savings or schedule improvement opportunities presented by suppliers.
Some business travel.
RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements -The least amount of skills and training candidates must have to do a specific job. Candidates not meeting these requirements will not be hired for this position.
Bachelors degree and 5+ years of related experience
OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
Experience in Construction Industry. Solar, civil, and/or mechanical preferred.
Demonstrated ability in contract negotiation and management.
Demonstrated ability to read consruction plans.
Direct trade experience.
Expertise with Design and Build Contracts.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Fluent in English.
Demonstrated ethics and integrity.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with central and regional team members.
Demonstrated ability to work in a rapid paced, highly dynamic business environment.
Knowledge and experience with Continuous Improvement (i.e. 8D, Six Sigma methodologies).
Experience with LEAN construction and Design and Build contracting.
Great interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface and maintain relationships at all levels of an organization.
Ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment.
