Position Purpose:

This is a unique position in a highly entrepreneurial environment with ambitious growth goals with the support of one of the largest retailers in the world (108 year old successful bedding company acquired by The Home Depot).

The Sr. Manager, Paid Media manages a team of associates responsible for executing and optimizing all paid media investments for The Company Store. This responsibility includes strategy to most efficiently spend our marketing dollars, executing the plan, and monitoring performance daily but also requires a high level of critical thinking skills needed in order to leverage unexpected opportunities as these arise, and the ability to communicate and justify any changes to the broader organization. The ability to evaluate and synthesize data is also a prerequisite for success given the complexity of the multiple data sources used in the decision-making processes.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • 30%: Execute Paid Media plans developed in partnership with the media agencies, which are in term informed by the company revenue goals. Implement best practices across digital channels including SEO, SEM, display, retargeting, affiliates and paid social. This role will also be in charge of leading our Direct Mail program.
  • 25%: Lead our traffic roadmap: project planning, development work, onboarding of vendors, analytics dashboards, with a focus on driving customer acquisition. Leverage CRM data to optimize program efficiency. Work directly with creative teams for content and with dev team for technical implementation.
  • 15%: Select, develop, and motivate assigned staff.
  • 15%: Select and manage external vendors as needed to support appropriate media strategies
  • 15%: Develop reporting tools and monitor ongoing performance of homedepot.coms activities against top industry benchmarks

Nature and Scope:

  • This position reports to Director of Marketing

  • This position has 2+ direct reports

Environment:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 7 years

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years of experience actively managing and implementing large Paid Digital and Traditional Media Budgets at an agency and/or large retailer.

  • Previous experience with retail websites highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Coremetrics) and/or CRMs

  • Hands-on experience managing all or most of the following: Google AdWords, Bing, SEO, Display, retargeting, Facebook Ads, Pinterest Affiliates

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership abilities and experience managing teams and cross-functional work relationships, both internally and with external agency and media partners.

  • Strong presentation and writing skills are pre-requisites for success due to the high amount of interaction with teams outside of the Paid Media team.
