Brief description:

Responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Outside Plant engineering group across the organization. Build, implement and improve consistent practices to ensure quick and stable service delivery aligned with company initiatives and expectations. Ensure a high degree of multi-functional communication within the organization.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and improve the customer experience

  • Provide leadership and direction to the OSP Field Engineering resources

  • Review completed field survey to contribute to make ready solution that meets applicable requirements

  • Assist in preparation of the annual budget

  • Establish and maintain Permitting SOPs

  • Build and maintain Engineering Guidelines for the organization

  • Evaluate new OSP products and designs for possible implementation

  • Establish and ensure a quality records management process in conjunction with the Design team

  • Evaluate and collaborate with senior management regarding strategic planning of rebuilds and system extensions, and new product development and deployment

  • Ensure alignment to company safety standards

  • Ensures field compliance with corporate engineering standards, policies and procedures

  • Participate in budget and forecasting planning and manage departmental expenses

  • Ensure accurate capital expenditures and make sound investment decisions in the network

  • Identify engineering and deployment opportunities to inspire change and initiate ideas

  • In partnership with the Director of Engineering & Design, lead all aspects of the development of technical and engineering staff

  • Creation and oversight of the organizational change approval process

  • Perform other duties as requested

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge:

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on video conference, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner

  • Knowledge of company products and services

  • Advanced Knowledge of Service Provider FTTH engineering and construction practices

  • Ability to prioritize different projects and tasks

  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

  • Ability to supervise and empower others

  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications

  • Advanced knowledge of Digital Transmission

  • Advanced knowledge of Electronic theory

  • Advanced knowledge of Fiber Optic theory

  • Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code

  • Strategic Agility

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience preferred

  • SCTE/BCTE certification or equivalent preferred

  • Industry and vendor specific certifications and training

Related Work Experience:

  • 10+ years engineering management experience
  • 5+ years proven experience with project management
  • 7+ years proven outstanding leadership skills

We are seeking a hardworking, collaborative and resourceful Senior Product Manager to define market requirements, product strategy, specification of service features and capabilities, and drive the timely delivery of new products. You'll translate ideas into strategy and features, and follow product development from start to finish. Job Duties * Create and execute on product area vision, driving towards specific business goals through our customer experience; run experiments to validate these hypotheses and determine solutions to bring to market * Collect and analyze feedback from customers, partners and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products * Work with senior management to create product plans, roadmaps, and coordinate with cross-functional teams * Ensure products and releases are launched correctly and on schedule * Make creative recommendations to expand product base and vision * Integrate with analytics tools, suggest ways to track product use and impact on end users * Own and work with marketing, design and engineering to build a sequenced backlog that aligns with business priorities and customer needs, act as PO for the set of scenarios you are driving. * Supervise critical metrics to understand the impact of experiments and new features launched, conduct root cause analysis on metrics, Drive/Measure OKRs * Prioritizing our Customers above all by working directly with them as well as our Marketing, Engineering and Customer Support teams to continually represent and improve the product. * Craft comprehensive product plans, which define customer and market requirements, establish the objectives, strategies, and actions needed to achieve our customer's goals. * Provide market knowledge and how we position our products in a highly competitive marketplace. Requirements * Passion for understanding customer needs and pairing with data and outstanding design to elegantly resolve problems. * Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes and challenge conventional wisdom. * Self-starter and results-oriented, able to work under minimal mentorship. * Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn new things, techniques and technologies. * Excellent organizational, prioritization and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail. * Experience with Agile software development methodologies and are comfortable describing related technical concepts and capabilities * Experience in product lifecycle management * Background in software development and program management is preferred * Organizational and leadership abilities * Excellent communication skills * Creative thinking skills and Problem-solving aptitude * Ideally 5+years experience developing and launching products within the mobile app, web or telecom environment * Proficient in analytics, data management and dashboarding/reporting.
